The Green Party

To me they certainly are.

Socialism is an ideology. You do not determine what is 'socialism' or not.

Rather than be clueless, why do you not look up the definition of socialism and then establish if it is an accurate label you can attach to the PLP. If you still think they are socialist, there is no hope for you.

I very much see greens taking the left side of politics. In the same way reform are taking the right

Like them or not, polanski and farage have a different way of talking to the electorate , not the usual weird way politicians talk

The Green Party and Reform present themselves with clarity and purpose, offering a coherent message and a defined strategic direction. In contrast, Labour and the Tories appear to shift with prevailing public sentiment, resulting in messaging that can seem inconsistent and lacking conviction. Thus, leading to many perceiving them as being weak and confusing, and possibly suspicions of alignment with opaque agendas.

Historically, as seen in parts of Europe during the 1970s and 1980s, the rise of green movements and political parties has had a tangible impact on mainstream politics. Should the Green Party’s popularity continue to grow, it is plausible the PLP may begin to adopt some of the Greens most popular policies, such as those relating to re-joining the EU, environmental reform and addressing the housing crisis.

Why do the Lib Dems get totally forgotten ?

In fact, i feel they've been on stronger and more outspoken on Gaza, Musk, Reform than the Greens have.

feels like everyone has since Greens have risen.

The Greens have had a substantial rise in popularity. They excite people. The Lib Dems are a bit "meh" and been around an age. You also have to account for the fact that the Lib Dems made the biggest mistake in politics: giving people hope and not delivering. They got into Govt and co-managed austerity and hikes in student fees. Labour are in the process of making a similar mistake.

The Lib Dems can get lost

Ok, so to me they’re socialists because they’re striving towards more social equality. They increase minimum wage while imposing higher and higher taxes on savers, businesses and those of us fortunate enough to own properties and investments. All the time they refuse to be stricter on welfare, so we end up with too few people working and contributing to society, so taxes go up for the rest.

Whilst many people may welcome this, personally I do not, hence to me labour are socialists. Greens are even worse.

I’m not expecting any sympathy or many people to agree, because most people hate the wealthy and think we should subsidise the rest of society. Obviously I vehemently disagree.

Loads of people have never voted and never will, hold no political views, find politics boring and unimportant, never bother to learn what different political parties ideas and ideals are, take themselves out of conversations or change the subject if anyone brings up politics, never watch the news or current affairs programmes, don’t follow or look for anything political online…

Thinking back to an ex-girlfriend of mine’s knowledge of politicians, from the current crop we have now, if she was the only person in a room with Rachel Reeves and Kemi Badenoch she wouldn’t be able to tell you which one was which nor which one was part of which party any more than I could point out anyone from two rival hockey teams in the English Hockey League. She wasn’t unintelligent either. Quite high up in her organisation.

Within my group of mates, if anyone ever brings up politics in the pub they get told to ‘fucking shut up you boring bastard!’, as there is the odd new-lefty or Tommy Robinson fanboy in there.

I’d say that all falls within being apolitical. And I’d bet as many people are like this in this country than voted for parties like the Greens or Reform at the last GE.
Whether people recognise it as politics or not politics is involved in every aspect of our lives, if you have an opinion on anything worthwhile you ain't apolitical.

Not voting can mean you don't like what's on offer or you think in your area your view won't make a difference.

Look how many on here spend years arguing for no reason whatsoever because they still believe what they did before they came on here. Knowing who a certain politician is or having an interest hasn't done any good.
They could have just voted the way they always have or not which is often understandable.
Some are just not interested in playing the game, the way politicians act, the promises, their supporters.
Its a pretty good defence mechanism saying you're not interested in politics it usually stops some bore waffling in your ear for half an hour.

At the moment all anyone wants to talk about is immigration or the cost of living. I dont mind on here but in the real world I tend to pretend I have no interest. No one has much new to say.

Btw talking politics in the pub is boring :-)

It can lose you friends as well.
