On tonight, Thursday 31st October.

23:05 - BBC2 HD - The Omen (1976)

01:05 - LEGEND - The Howling (1981)
A wilderness psychiatric retreat holds terror and werewolves for a distraught TV reporter.
I do love The Omen, the others not so much. I know The Howling is much-lauded, but I always thought Wolfen was the best of the three 1981 werewolf movies.

Having dipped into the DVD pile, tonight’s triple-bill will be Jess Franco’s 1976 version of Jack the Ripper, S. F. Brownrigg’s demented ‘lunatics take over the asylum’ shocker Don’t Look in the Basement (1973) finishing with Hammer’s Taste the Blood of Dracula (1970) because I’ve never seen it.

On tonight, Saturday 19th October.

21:20 - 4 HD - Smile (2022)
After witnessing a traumatic incident, Dr. Cotter starts experiencing frightening occurrences that she can't explain. An overwhelming terror begins to takeover her life.

23:00 - 5STAR - Final Destination 2 (2003)
Death returns to claim the lives of those who were meant to die but didn't in a horrible highway calamity.

23:50 - BBC1 HD - The Blair Witch Project (1999)
Three lost students become the prey of an unknown entity while researching a local legend in the Maryland woods. The footage of their trip is found on film.

01:50 - Film4 HD - A Field in England (2013)
Two men capture a small group of deserters during the England civil war. After ingesting wild mushrooms, the captives fall victims to the powerful energies of a mystical field.

Smile is the best Horror I’ve seen for many years

I am currently watching The Substance on Mubi.

It’s like a wonderfully weird mix of a Paul Verhoeven and a David Cronenberg film.
And done.

Woah. That was an experience.

I think it could easily become a cult classic in years to come but there were moments where it felt repetitive and it was at least 20 minutes too long.

But what an incredible performance from Demi Moore. She was outstanding.

On tonight, Friday 1st November.

23:25 - TalkingPics - Ravenous (1999)
A Scottish traveller relays a chilling tale of cannibalism to an Army captain and others in a remote 1847 outpost in the Sierra Nevadas.
