Its beautifully paced and choreographed (The Nightingale) but it can also be a punishing and brutal watch.

However, if you can get past the "controversial scene" and the casual racism of its time, then yep, it leaves an impression with you long after the film has finished.

Just watching the first one now. I quite like it so far
 
Probably stick Psycho on this evening. It's hard to imagine it now, by modern standards. But that film must have been quite shocking when it came out. Matricide and cross dressing. Not what the great unwashed was used to back in the late 50s/early 60s.Cracking film, by the way. Perkins was outstanding as Norman.

I've got a few horrors in my DVD collection...but haven't owned a DVD player for 4 years.
Picked up a dirt cheap one last night for £27 (works out cheaper then paying for the films on streaming services that I already own on DVD).

I've forgotten how these disk thingys work...
