Mine isn't an unpopular view, in fact it's the overwhelming view of the country when it was last polled. You can draw some comfort that your empty life means more because you still hate Charlie and his wife and that Diana was your favourite but it means the sum total of diddly squat in the real world.

Calling someone a "Sad sack" for having a different opinion than you shows you for what you are.

Those first two sentences say a lot more about the undercurrent of nastiness running through the U.K. than it does anything else.

If anyone has an opinion that differs from the mob then they get called names and ostracised by the group, this thread has many cases of this even though the opinion of the mob isn't really a national view of any kind.

Now who exactly is being kind? And why should everyone be kind to people who are not being kind to them?

No it means that the majority of the country hasn't been hoodwinked by those two, taking the high ground on a minority view and getting offended might be the new way to look clever but it really isn't.

I know which hill I rather die on and comfortably too. If history has taught me anything, if the minority view is to not treat people like shit that will always be the hill one should die on.

It’s fine to have an opinion, if it’s a bit of a nasty one then I’d expect a bit of blow back which ends up being nasty as well and round and round we go.

Spot-on. It surprises me that some City fans, who should know better than most what a smear campaign looks like, seem to believe some of the garbage printed about Harry and Meghan. Isn't it just possible that the truth in this Royal feud lies in the middle like all disputes. Perhaps William is a bit full of himself, perhaps Harry isn't the brightest spark, and maybe Meghan is a bit pushy. Who knows? The press coverage has mostly been biased and tribal...just like it is about City.
