People saying the public have turned against him have got it wrong.
He was never really loved in the first place. He hadn't done much to get public affection.
However, when Meghan arrived, his popularity rose, as the public seems to like a royal romance/wedding.
She is very pretty, and would have fitted in very well with the palace to promote the royal image.
She is either stupid or naive, to think the royals would have bent to any wishes she wanted. It's an institution that has survived by making brutal decisions. I think once she realised things weren't going to go the way she wanted, she decided she wanted out.
I have no problem with that. Harry may not have agreed with her at first. So i believe she used any negative past experiences to poison him to his own family. Most of this seems to be in the book!
So they both declare they want to step down from royal duties. Again that is their right, and most people didn't have a problem with that. Infact, that actually gained them more support and sympathy, as a lot understand the pressure of royal life.
The problems began when they wanted to keep royal titles and other privileges, yet have nothing to do with day to day royal duties. They thought they could use their royal status to make money. It was then that people decided that they wanted "Their cake and eat it". Still, at this point they still had support of the people.
Then they went public with TV interviews. That was a line that was drawn by themselves. What happened next was always going to happen.
Now people just see them a manipulators trying to make money. Even if everything they have said was true wouldn't change peoples minds about their motives. The book is the final nail in the coffin. It's open season now. How can they ever ask for privacy going forwards when they have opened up their private lives for money.
They should have just left the royal family. Gone about their business. Make that new life for themselves.
They would have found people would have sympathised why they had to leave. Almost the complete opposite would have happened. People would have turned on the royal family for pushing them out.
