Its been lovely for the last 3 days, if I remember correctly this is how the heatwave of 76 started, the second half of March was glorious then come April, BOOM, the temperature shot up

Yep, on June 2nd 76 it snowed mostly in the Midlands and the Peak District, a cricket match was cancelled at Buxton Derbyshire
Michael Fish at the time said it was a freak event of nature

I'v just googled 'snow in the Summer of 1976' and it has brought up Michael Fish reminiscing about that year and he said the cricket match that was hit by a freak snow storm in Buxton was indeed in June 1976!

As I said in my original post, I too was convinced this game was in 1976 but I think Fish must be suffering from the same memory problems as the rest of us.
