Don't get me wrong last night was embarassing, as bad a performance as i can remember under Mancini. He got it completely wrong as i've said numerous times, if we don't finish 4th and we have another couple of performances like last night then i'll hold my hands up and say i was wrong and Mancini wasn't the right man afterall, as it stands i think he's doing a decent job and if we get 4th i'd be happy enough to give him another season but i'm not naive enough to suggest he's the be all and end all, he makes mistakes which he is going to do but it's all about learning from them, theres things i think he can do much better

Of course people make mistakes, I won't deny that, however last night was inexcusable.

Nearly 18 months in the job is plenty of time, once again I could have picked the side better than Bob and set us up better - it didn't take a rocket scientist to work out how the dippers would play.

Saying all that I'm still confident we will get 4th, imo Bob though won't be here beyond the summer.

18 months in the job is plenty of time for what? If we didn't have a huge game on Saturday and produced that kind of performance i'd be extremely concerned however the way the players weren't interested in making a tackle, tracking back, working hard was surely down to having Saturday in mind, the same way Spurs kind of played at Wigan ahead of their game at Madrid? When was the last time you saw a performance like that under Mancini where there was literally no effort or willingness from the defenders and defensive midfielders to make any tackles or blocks?

I'm not going to make any excuses for last night, Mancini got it badly wrong and it was a terrible performance

I am!

This is City - what do you expect - an easy ride?

No Tevez on Saturday is the same as no Rooney for them. We've got the bad one out of the way - after all, when was the last time we won even 2 games away from Home? Exactly, so thank f... we lost last night.

I'll look forward to hearing the Mancini out boo boy brigade on Saturday and if anyone boos near me - no matter how shyte we might play - I'll twat 'em.

Get behind NDJ you bunch of lightweights. We're a different team with him in.

To not underestimate the opposition, that's what.

It was blatantly obvious that the dippers would play their pressing game and try to get in our faces early doors because of the semi-final looming - I knew it so why didn't Bob?

Maybe our opinion differs based on you thinking that last night was all down to the players having their minds on Saturday - personally I think that's a cop-out, top4 has always been the main priority and I believe Bob thought he was picking a team to win that match last night.

Leaving NDJ, Silva and Balo on the bench was fucking suicide - Dalglish must have been pissing himself when he saw the teamsheet.

Managers will always underestimate teams no matter how long they've been in a job. Me and you both know the players that played last night were good enough to get a result, they were much better than they shown last night but there was just no desire, no application and no willingness to work. Why i don't know and it's the first time i've seen it in a performance overall under Mancini and all i can think about is that they had their mind on Saturday, if they turn up with the same lack of desire, lack of application etc on Saturday then i'd be extremely concerned but i'm convinced they won't, they'll be right up for it. It's not right that thats the case but it happens believe it or not

Either way i don't think you'll find anyone that defends Mancini in terms of his team selection and choice of subs but it was one game, on the back of one of our best performances this season

Glad to see this thread this is my 1st posting on blue moon and felt the need to post after seeing all the negativity.

I went last week to the sunderland game and was watching last nights game at home, but didnt the last 8 days sum up city. The way that city can trounce a team then play shoddy the game after is what city are about and have done over how many years?

We as city fans need now to get behind the team and bring our spontaneous homour and fantastic support that was heard at liverpool to wembley and trounce the rags in volume and support for our team. I am looking forward to saturday due to how many times in the face of adversity has city come out on top and we will do again on saturday. I am hoping that tevez is fit but if not their is never a greater time for ballotelli and dzecko to make heroes of themselves at this club.

To all the fans going to wembley enjoy the moment and no doubt you will support the team put last nights performance behind us and Mancini's experience in cup competitions should put us in good stead on saturday. Lets be positive we have the richest owner in the premiership and have some great players playing in the blue shirt not so many seasons ago we was fighting relagation and over 60+ in debt and now were in a fa cup semi and 4th in the premiership with a team that hasnt been playing together for long and still will need time to gel together more and to find the right formation (though the 442 against sunderland looked good) dont drop our heads and lets get on with it!

I am thinking positive it worked last saturday when I won £175 on the grand national and i said then we will win the fa cup. This season we have seen some great performances and no doubt we will see another saturday.

Sorry for the rant but just my opinion.

Fuck yes! Especially when it's your first trip to see city at Wembley!

Funny how things get extortionately overexadurated whether we win or loose on here. Theres no middle ground?! Bad result yesterday, I get that and Mancini got it wrong. He has even admitted it himself. But that off the back of a massive win against Sunderland, in which everyone started hailing him as gods greatest treasure?

At the end of the day, you get behind the manager and you get behind the players whatever the result, whatever the situation. We are fans at the end of the day are we not? Thick and thin it will never change. Mine, and I'm sure most of your hearts have been broken along the way but this is our time! Massive game on Saturday that is going to make me loose my voice, a few pounds and probably the skin off my shins from jumping into the chair infront while doing the Poznan!

Cmon!! This is what we have been waiting for.

A big welcome to the board for a person with half a cup full rather than half a cup empty, God knows we need a few more like you around here.

Though, if you really want to impress you should put that £175 on City to win the FA cup..........

Hmmmmmm Thought not! LOL
