The importance of Mancini

Both were good players before city but poor last season.

Hence replacements have been bought.

To claim every layer has improved is just plain daft and sycophantical.

Correct - look at Bridge!

But agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment that Mancini seems to be getting the most out of the first team squad and playing to the best of their ability - and to be fair the credit should probably be extended to everyones favourite Mr Potato Head impersonator...........

I am increasingly impressed by Mancini. There is not a single player in the team that he doesnt seem to have improved. This seems to have been overlooked or overshadowed due to the fact he has had to deal with some players who were disruptive or not right for his vision, it is becoming abundantly clear though in my opinion that this guy is a top top manager who knows what it takes to win. Lescott, Richards, De Jong, Kompany are unrecognisable from the players Hughes signed and he has own signings look improved Silva was unplayable at times today and dzeko (who I have slated - apologies edin) looks a yard quicker and harder. Thank you Mr Mancini keep up the good work.

It must be pretty hard, with a team full of good quality, and some very good quality, players, to lose to teams of limited quality such as Swansea and Bolton.
The only quality team that we have played so far, beat us. So let's not go too far overboard just yet. Today we showed signs at times of last season's slow-build-up, walk- the- ball-into- the-net style which lost us so many points last year.
Barcelona we are not... not yet.

I like the man as well as the manager.

The only question was whether he would adapt.

He has.

So, the Scum beat us in a glittery pre-season game. So what? What's more important was the lesson it taught us; that there are no friendlies between us and them. None.

It was probably the best thing to ever happen, during pre-season.

Never said we were barca, never made any predictions re: trophies was just pointing out that Mancini deserves a lot of credit as Hughes proved having cash is not enough.

Will get slated for saying it, but i dont think Vinnie is fully on his game YET. Couple more games and he will be firing on all cylinders

Great observation, fully agree.

It's hard round here sometimes as people are so protective of their favourite players, but Kompany HAS been making more mistakes than we're used to. In the previous three games, he's made a few errors of judgement which is unlike him. I'm sure that he'll be back to his normal self soon
