well you don't see it clearly enough OR choose not to

Only last week Labour reported there were 673 reports of anti-semitism resulting in 307 investigations and suspensions suggesting that in that 673 total there could be more than one complaint about a single act. The result of the investigation process has seen a further 12 members ejected from the party.

As has been said the Cons still haven't adopted the IHRA definition and as yet Baroness Warsi's complaints of Islamophobia have not resulted in any Conservative Party investigation.

12 ejections is a joke though isn’t it? Let’s be honest for the amount of complaints it should be a lot higher.

Your point about there could be more than one complaint are maybe to do with the fact that McDonnell mentioned yesterday that “repeat offences” will result in ejections - why are Labour not ejecting people on the first time they’re racist?

The last part is whataboutism - you must know my feelings on the Tory party.

Cannot believe I am sat here agreeing with graham stringer calling them out as dishonest and self intrested arrogance, with his main ire reserved for Chuka and Leslie

Anti Semitism is confused / conflated with a dislike of the actions of the Israeli Government ..... deliberately. And is being used as a stick to beat the Labour Party.. ... if you can't see that
I can see that, just how I can see how others use criticism of the Netanyahu Government to criticise and be hateful of Jews, the Jewish Faith and communities.

It's a pretty strong grip anyway. At some point they were going to be deselected in favour of Momentum approved candidates.

Possibly. Although by leaving, they've done Momentum's job for them. Deselecting them would have shown Corbyn up given the number of times he defied the party whip.

They could have played the long game, knowing that Labour's student union politics were not likely to win an election any time soon - and the Corbyn effect would wane, and then tried to take the party back into the centre. They've decided against that and the only way this won't be a total failure is if they merge with the Lib Dems but under a new name.

Safe seat found for Tory defector

The Tory defector Shaun Woodward is poised to be parachuted into St Helens South, one of Labour's safest seats and a ruggedly working class constituency.

Tony Blair is planning to publicly endorse the former Tory frontbench spokesman after the
Labour MP Gerry Bermingham paved the way for Mr Woodward to stand by unexpectedly agreeing to step down. Mr Woodward, 42, a millionaire after marrying into the Sainsbury supermarket family, would, with Mr Blair's backing, be the clear favourite to win a snap selection ballot proposed for the weekend.

I'm not sure it would have, given it could be painted as a local party issue each time, and nor would I think that people pointing out the contradiction from the past would have the slightest effect on anything.

There is an irony though that the Momentum activists have spent years screeching that they should fuck off out of the Party, and now they have. What the question is now is who it hurts more, and I'll need to reflect on that further before I come to a conclusion.
