The Keeper - Trautmann film Sunday 5th Sept on BBC

Watched the film when it came out. Have read his book, very much a worthwhile read. The accusations of our club having no history stagger me when you know about this man. Bert is real history, not just trophies (where we are fifth in the all time list).
The woke world we live in would hardly have given Bert a second chance. A proud, hard working, handsome, tough man who defied all logic in a post-war era to become a true City legend. If anyone needs a statue, it is Bert.

Yes but a very different film. For those that remember the old Maine road the CGi of the ground is fantastic and you can imagine the boardroom being like that when Swales was in charge. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Small correction but Swales wasn’t in charge at that point. I remember Bert and it was well before that halfwit ruined the club, maybe 10 years after Trautmann retired did Swales come in?

In all fairness Riverside never said he was in charge at that time ??

Apologies if I’ve misunderstood but I took this as Rivers saying he was: “For those that remember the old Maine road the CGi of the ground is fantastic and you can imagine the boardroom being like that when Swales was in charge”

Maybe he meant it hadn’t changed.
