The Kippax Last Stand - 30/4/1994

One of my Uncles stopped going to City a couple of years after they tore the Kippax down because he said the club just wasn’t the same anymore without the Kippax

It pretty much signalled the end in terms of regular attendance for me too, sitting down at football is just not right. I did go to most games home & away in League 2 but that was out of an overpowering sense of my club needing me, continued the next season but I think Blackburn away (what a day) was my last game until 2006, Villa away when Micah rose like a salmon for that late equaliser.

If they built a terrace and allowed smoking I'd be happy to join the queue for a season ticket, so I guess I won't be along any time soon.

I used to stand at the old scoreboard end until they seated it and then moved to the Kippax.
Remember once dodging school to go and watch us play in a league cup game that was played midweek in the afternoon due to the power cuts caused by the miners strike.

Sitting on the white wall as a kid right at the front. Someone walked along selling hotdogs and drinks at half time.

Always remember when young the season ticket had a number on the brick entrance each game. Was always random order needed tearing out the book.

Coventry City, I couldn't get off school, my mum wouldn't let me, she went though, she took the afternoon off work.

As a kid I used to sit in the North Stand in awe of the noise that emanated from the Kippax. So many occasions of great atmosphere - love the Etihad but wished we could generate the noise in games like those days

Me too, sat behind the goal with the family in Main stand B - used to sit on the wall in awe at the kippax for years loving every minute of it
