The Labour Government

Good news!

Question for you, why do we have to fly these people out. The Oriah are just putting them on Ferries back to the UK without any processing of asylum claims. Why doesn't the UK just do the same and return the illegal boat crossing people back to France.

There it is ....... The ''Labour can't even deport people properly'' post.

Admit it ..... there is nothing that Labour can do right in your eyes.

The strikes were costing the economy billions every time - the Tories wouldn’t even sit around the table to try and resolve the dispute. Disgraceful. Thankfully Labour come in and sorted that out as always.
And unless you think the Tories weren't going to agree any pay rises, the cost of the rises is only the difference between what would have had to be paid. Maybe the Tories did think running down public services was a good thing.

The "black hole" may work as an excuse for the NI tax rise. The Tories were still quoting "there's no money left" 14 years later, but there's never any money left unless the government hasn't spent some of what it's borrowed.

I judge these things by my local Italian restaurant. Even when it's full, the owner says look how many staff are on. He's not been having a go at me yet about the NI.... but most businesses are not labour intensive. As a rough guide the "labour share" of the economy means the NI increase will add half a percent to company costs. The supermarkets are making more than that by keeping the same mark up on food where prices have risen.

Our resident news and X reposters must have missed this last night?

And in other news today....

one for the resident right wing forriner haters

It appears as part of Reeves's spending review that departments will submit their plans for scrutiny by a panel of experts from the private sector including from the banking sector. I'm sure we'll all sleep better at night knowing that those paragons of fiscal virtue will be providing the value of their wisdom and oversight.

I think this is just common sense. If you make a change you usually want to see a positive outcome and often you are so invested in that change that you cannot see any negatives at all. The negatives need to be pointed out and usually there will be negatives for somebody.
