The Labour Government

Can you please let us know when sea levels start to rise because I've been waiting for the last 30 years and nothing has happened.
YOu should go to Khao Lak in Thailand then. We have been going there for the last 15 years or so. What used to be a continuous beach for 6-7 km is now interspersed with walls where the tide now comes during the off season. I would say the sea now encroaches at least 8m further than it did the first time we went there.

Tweety and chippy will be putting forward their unique scientific credentials anytime now, if only the thousands of actual scientists with real world evidence and data had listened to the oracle twins.

All those politicians and rather clever chaps throughout the world have all been conned or are part of a conspiracy for no reason whatsoever.

But I stood in the sea and it was only up to my shins claimed one whilst the other said he once.got a bit of heat stroke in the 70s.

Expect more powerful stuff tomorrow as chippy remembers passing a snowman in his audi a6 5.0 tdi only last January and tweets put his heating up whilst wearing a scarf and didn't die.

There was hot weather when the dinosaurs roamed the earth didn’t ya know.

Yeh, I’ll ignore the scientific evidence and treat it as overblown bollocks because a guy called Chippy boy said so on a football forum.
Please do. You'll thank me for it.

Or you can worry yourself sick about the sea being another 4" higher in another 32 years. Your choice.

Of course climate change is real, I just don't believe the our activities have anything to do with it.

So one example, Tanker Vessels are burning millions and millions of Fuel Oil into the Sea every single day - do you not think that has any effect at all ?

Er, precisely the point.

The Earth is a balanced system. It is full of negative feedback loops that regulate things and keep it stable. Were that not the case, the climate would have spiralled out of control - turning into an ice ball, or all the atmosphere boiling off - billions of years ago. It hasn't.

Think of it like a bowl spinning on top of a stick. If the bowl is the normal way up, balanced precariously, and you knock the bowl and it falls off. With the bowl upside down, it wobbles but then settles down again and stays on. It's a stable system. Same with the earth: increase CO2, you increase plant growth, which accelerates CO2 absorption and things stabilise again.

We've dumped a shed load of CO2 into the atmosphere recently but it's still at 426 parts per million. That 0.0426%. It's a pitifully small amount. 500 million years ago, it was more than 10x this amount, and life is still here.

Anyway, since we've increased CO2 by 50% over the last 200 years, it takes the planet time to adjust. In another 100 years or so, it will have mopped up all the excess CO2 and temperatures will start dropping again. We'll possibly end up with another mini ice age.

This is not just some bollocks on a football forum, btw. You can read up about it if you like.

Actually I am sure it has.

But "climate catastrophy" is utter nonsense. They were right when they called it "climate change", but that didn't panic people enough, so they had to up the ante.

Hopefully "downstairs" will be the first to flood! :-)

And yet you, yes you said it could kill up.to 2 billion but probably not. You're all over the place.

4 inches of rain pah
2 billion killed maybe not whatever
No need to panic
Err AI will be worse which is irrelevant to this matter but well you erm......

You can see why we might all be struggling with you here, and Tweety has come out with a corker.

Oh its real.but humans aren't causing it.

Teeety bluemoon 7/7/25

Come on guys please, enough is enough. Let's get back to calling a politician a **** or something.

You can scoff all you like but I've said nothing inconsistent mate.

Fact is, climate change is NOT wiping out humans any time this century, or thereafter. It isn't. Fact. End of.

AI might

It's a simple as that really.

I mentioned how many people could die as a result of climate change merely to demonstrate that even the most cataclysmic projections (which aren't going to happen) would not result in human extinction. Same with all our nuclear war: It would kill billions but not everyone. AI might kill everyone.

Sorry if you can't get your head around it.

But yes, let's get back to sucking up to Starmer, which is the agenda here, right?

You think I suck up to Starmer? You think most others do? Pmsl

I think we will.leave it there you've lost the plot pal, coming back to the politics forum more regularly isn't doing you any good. That's not a dig. You're all over the place and not even reading basic posts properly. Think about taking a step back.

and? around 930,000 years ago, a wide natural land bridge joined southeast Britain to what was then mainland Europe - we weren't around then to fk it all up

I wasn't suggesting you were sucking up to Starmer.

And no, I'm not all over the place. I've said nothing inconsistent. Strange you think I have. Maybe you're mixing up my comments with what others may have said.

But its looking increasingly like if you don't like the argument, attack the poster instead.

Anyway, moving on...
