Probably right, we need a government accountable for their mistakes.

I do think she genuinely comes across as a decent person that has made a mistake, either accidentally or intentionally.

That's politics. People wanting her gone will happily vote tax dodgers (Farage et al) at the next election.

I get the feeling she did everything with her son in mind.

She put the court order in to protect him and fucked up.

Wouldn't surprise me if some right wing scummy journalists started hounding him as well. Being a mother she wouldn't stand for that and do everything to protect him. Including ditching her career.

Her political judgement must be called into question in that she must have known she was a target for certain sections of our press and that anything remotely borderline would be seized upon by them and exploited.

Yeah it's just a bad mistake. Any mistatement of tax is always going to be scrutinised as a public official though.

Even the legal methods of tax avoidance should be scrutinised more for public officials, as its against the spirit of the law they're designing. However, nearly every MP will be up to their neck in that.

The sad thing for me being a Labour supporter all my life is that the actions of this Govt over the past year have totally made me disillusioned with Labour and many others will probably vote for fucking Farage and his cronies. They all seem to be in the same pot/trough.
