Yep, it’s quite simple: “The referendum proposal will not be implemented unless 60% of those voting…etc”

Brexit was entirely the fault of Cameron.
1. The vote was supposed to be advisory only and not binding. A wafer thin majority should not have been used to convert the vote to a binding decision.
2. Cameron did this because he still had a vociferous group in Parliament that would have split the Tories by campaigning for Brexit if he did not action it. Cameron put party above country.
3. He then resigned, leaving others to implement Brexit.

The Brexit result was entirely the fault of the remain campaign who failed to put across to the British people the benefits of remaining in the EU.

Once remain got in to the narrative of fighting it on leave’s terms (the cost of being a member) it was lost. Same with Reform and immigration, Labour can say all they want about making it harder, smashing the gangs etc etc - they are on a hiding to nothing as everyone and their dog knows it’s not an easy problem to solve, Farage won’t do any better trying to solve it either. Don’t fight fire with fire by talking of problems instead extol the virtues.

Violent crime is about 14% down year on year. The police have just nabbed a gang that they believe have been responsible for 40% of phone thefts in the capital. If that proves to be the case that should lead to another significant drop.

I don't believe there is any "acceptance" of the present situation but inevitably manpower is key.

I was in London a few weeks ago around the Stratford area. I walked the best part of 5 miles and at no point felt threatened. The only unruly behaviour I saw all day was from a Liverpool fan on the train out of London as they had just lost the Community Shield to Palace.

Oh right. Have to admit I didn't interpret it like that. I thought he was essentially arguing that even with reinvestment in the police when you still have real term cuts to the policing budget you're going to end up prioritising. I can definitely see for instance why if you were a retailer losing money to shoplifters the tone of it would really wind you up but I didn't really get the take away from it you did.

The number of arrests will be way up, especially relative to terrorism offences, as so many terrorists just sit there with their deadly terrorism placards rather than running away.
