The Labour Government

Is this for the loss of NHS England, to cut what has been called ‘unnecessary bureaucracy’, by culling managerial and admin jobs?

Looks like the payments will come from current budget as the savings will be realised within the following years.
This is local trusts offering redundancy to clinical staff while ED has 5+ hour waiting times and the waiting lists continue.

Nurses are getting laid off at trusts. Both our local ones are doing it as they need to balance the budgets and you can work with a few less nurses you can’t work without a HR department.

Not according to the news reports. It's about cutting bureaucracy and putting the savings into front line care. Maybe it's being reported differently where you are?

BBC Breakfast interview started on NHS, and then went onto the party stuff.

The repeated questions about 'will you ever challenge Starmer' were crass ('ever' is there to set up a hostage for the future, and the whole question is there to get a quote to use). I thought Streeting dealt with it pretty well, and didn't say anything out of turn.
Standard response should be, "Would you ever want to replace your boss in the news department?"

What do you mean?

You not seen him mate?

Smarmy, rent a smile, self serving prick, he wrote a book about himself.

Theres a lot in the Labour party like that at the moment, been an issue since the 90s.

Call me old fashioned, but the Labour lot need to be interested in what is good for people first, not what is good for their own image

They're not are they? I've just read it's admin and management getting laid off.

Nurses are getting laid off. Happening at both my local trusts. Friends of Mrs MB (as she’s worked at both trusts) including all of her old team on complex discharge - which means patients will stay in hospital longer and less throughput of patients as a consequence, but trust management is fully focused on balancing the books and not on patient experience or delays.

The £1bn is for NHS England.

I see a confident and competent politician. Wish there were many more like him

I’d be surprised if the rank and file would want to replace Starmer with someone who is even more of a Tory.
Voting system has changed to prevent another Corbyn. PLP have more voting power than the members and affiliates now.

The membership might want someone like Clive Lewis and the PLP will vote Mrs Balls.

Applications are already in in the trust I work in. Half of my colleagues have applied. I thought it would have been a bigger story tbh but for some reason the msm has stuck with the ‘getting rid of bureaucracy’ angle. How getting rid of senior clinicians in this time of 5hr+ ed waiting times is beyond me. I changed job 3 years ago otherwise I would have applied.
