When the chorus of Labour MPs asking the same question is growing you may be on to something.

I don’t see him going to after May elections but Trevor Phillips was interesting today when they looked at the runners and riders to replace him not being ready for various reasons even by then.

I said as much the other day. There’s hardly a queue of people ready to take over.

Starmer might as well take the hit of the elections and then a decision made on the best way forward.

What we do already know is that whomever is in charge later on in the year will not be good enough for the serial moaners. Nobody is good enough to be PM for them.

Oh I can think of one person they believe will do the job - he just needs to complete his "Anywhere but Clacton Tour"

None of this is great for the country as it takes energy from cabinet ministers etc who should be focusing on their jobs. Let’s see who comes out offering full support for Starmer in coming days.

You’ll always have folk who are partisan about these things, on all sides.

Like when the Conservatives appointed sunak after the scandals with Boris and the disaster that was truss, they need the next person to be squeaky clean and not have any previous scandals that can come back to bite them.

"This country deserves better. You deserve better...After a lot of soul searching I accept Morgan McSweeney made the wrong call over appointing a liar associated with a paedophile and he resigned. I have to stay the course as leader and continue to make the changes we promised when elected. The country needs stability.
