Ok, let me explain something to you.
For around the last 30 years or so, the appearance of police on the streets has diminished to the point
that they are now virtually never seen, my dad was always saying this at the time, and things have not changed.
This was well before May was home secretary, and reduced their numbers, the police on the streets debate
has been going on much longer than you appear to realise. Do to changes in policing, the minutiae of which
I'm not au fait with, this is what has happened, a copper on here was saying about how police were not as visible
on a similar thread, so there being none on the streets is not down to numbers. If it were, the argument
would be around the issue of there not being 'As Many' on the streets.
So, in a nutshell, if police policy is not to patrol, for whatever reason, how does increasing their number,
(which I would do, but alter their approach), help in reducing knife crime? It's easy to simply ask for more,
but more sat in offices won't help.
