As party leader he’s expected to have an opinion on pretty much anything. Some topics are going to have a higher priority than others but it doesn’t mean he won’t have an opinion on the lower priority ones which he will express if asked.
 
I don't understand why it would deem someone unelectable because they support the rights of a transexual person wanting to identify fully and legally as the gender they believe they are deep inside. Why does it bother certain people so much ?
 
I still don’t think Labour would win, even with all the scandals in the Tory party.

seems like the conservatives are trying to give Labour every chance.

I don't think they could ever dream up the clusterfuck that is the state of the UK right now. Wait till winter hits and the reality will hit the poorest. Many will be freezing and starving..

Just to be very clear what he actually said was this -

“A woman is a female adult and, in addition to that, trans women are women, and that is not just my view that is actually the law.

“It has been the law through the combined effects of the 2004 [Gender Recognition] Act and the 2010 [Equality] Act.”

So all he’s said is he agrees with the current legal position.

What he also said was he agreed with safe spaces for those born as women, so what exactly in any of that is in any way a controversial position? As I’m struggling with why anyone would disagree with it.

I genuinely think Labour won't win until they get a charismatic party leader. Politics has sadly changed now and the average knuckle dragging voter doesn't bother looking into the policies of the candidates or if they are a decent and honest person. It's all about who they like more. I mean look at Johnson. His entire political career is because people loved the floppy haired buffoon they saw on have I got news for you.

You can also look at what happened to Ed Miliband. He completely tanked because he talked nasally and looked a bit of a twat eating a bacon sandwich.

I think Starmer is a decent, if slightly boring person and I fully believe if he got elected he would do a good job to change the country for the better. But that's not gonna win enough voters over. Labour need someone oozing with charisma who will grab people's attention and really sell them on how their lives would improve under Labour while also going in hard on the tories. It's sad that's what is needed but that's the reality of politics now.

For Starmer and anyone in the party right now it must be popcorn time right now. He's played a blinder on the cluster fuck Johnson who knew at some point he would take the party would end up where it is right now.

Backtracked slightly this afternoon after talking too loudly out of class in the morning and deleted several tweets.
When May said 'we will not let you win', she wasn't just referring to the Tories so nothing should come as a surprise.

Our democracy is under attack and is currently fighting for its life whilst a chosen few pull the strings for only their benefit.

Dorris let the cat out of the bag and Labour should be mailing her for that. Unless Starmer is trying to generate the same kind of backing from rich donors with their own agenda.
 
How long do Durham plod need. Surely, they have all the evidence they need and have been chewing over it for weeks.
.Or, are they argueing with Johnson as he doesn't like their findings
