The Labour Party

I agree. He's got everything but the X Factor, the thing that makes the political illiterates vote for him. The irony here is that we've just got rid of a PM who was all style and no substance, and the alternative is a man with the substance but not the style. whilst I think he's a good man, I wouldn't be heartbroken if he had to resign over his can of beer.

Andy Burnham would be the man for me. Or David Milliband.
Just a little clear direction lacking from Starmer, admitedly he is treading a difficult line at times trying to balance both wings of the labour vote. Burnham is the kind of man who rewrites his Wikipedia page to make it look better and gets himself photoshopped into presentations that he wasn't even present at. That's all you need to know about Burnham. Milliband never got the chance.

Burnham wouldn’t cut across the divide in England, I suspect, whereas Miliband probably could.

It’s one of the great ironies of modern politics that neither party is in a position to pitch two of their more gifted politicians (David Miliband and Rory Stewart).

Yeah, the UK political scene is now scorched earth.
Can't imagine David Miliband giving up hig gig for this, but absolutely...a return of David, his bro and a switcheroo from Rory Stewart would be a fine start.

Just common sense and straight to the point.
Politicians have never gone for common sense and being straight to the point. Just listen to the answers to simple questions. Subterfuge, sleight of hand, smoke 'n mirrors, even downright dissembling is more the stock in trade of Westminster refugees.

Sadly you're correct. That's why it's so easy to lump them all together.

Not sure why so many are surprised by this. With Johnson, emails and texts about organising a party were circulated where as there was none for those in Durham. Police can only work with what they have in front of them.
