The Labour Party

Given the way Tory MPs are abandoning Sunak and flocking to Starmer’s banner, I would suggest that they don’t share your confidence in Sunak’s ability to know his arse from his elbow.
Not sure that basing your views on the actions of Natalie Elphicke is the way ahead to be honest.

They are. Labour are seeking to occupy the centre, centre/left and centre/right ground - albeit with greater emphasis on the centre/left.

Attracting sensible Tories is a signal to business groups and the electorate that Labour are ready for Govt. It’s all very sober and serious and makes a change to see people focusing on being competent rather than banging on about public toilets or crashing the asylum system.
Ah the sensible Tories. Those sober and serious competent types. The austerity Tories not the nutty fringe of recent vintage ..... must retain that 'greater emphasis on the centre/left' obviously :)

Out of genuine interest, who would you like to see as PM ?
I think Yvette Cooper would be a better Labour PM than Starmer.

I don’t agree really agree with her politics but she’s got a lot more between her ears than Starmer.

She probably wouldn’t want the job, but as a general rule I’d much rather have somebody who isn’t that arsed about being PM anyway.

Just don’t know why she has defected or why Labour have accepted her!!! I think there will be more too! Who next?

It will only be the vindictive extremists who haven’t been served by the Tories that will cross. The Doctor had real issues with the way the Tories has killed the NHS and she has, well, so many issues that she doesn’t care as she, like the Doc, were off anyway.

I do have a problem with people like her crossing the floor but would probably do the same as Labour at this juncture. Having one of their nasties ’choosing’ to turn their back on them sends a message that they are so incompetent, they can’t even look after their own, never mind the whole country.

The real question is why haven’t more of them defected?

The Conservative Party has lurched so far to the right that there’s a whole generation of Cameron era centrists who have far more in common with Labour than the nutters.

Didn’t Johnson kick those out though?

Starmer really is an utterly shameless individual and demonstrated his complete lack of backbone today by failing to condemn Khan’s comments about the moral equivalence between a terrorist group and a democratic state.

He really isn’t fit to be Prime Minister.
What did Khan say?

Highly experienced and very competent. She has gone for the job before though what her ambitions are now I wouldn't know.

There's always that paradox that people who don't actively seek power are often those best suited to exercise it.

Err no, we are getting a Labour govt the tories are losing. And I don't have to pick either. Some people think they have to, really stupid people mind.

Carry on.:-)

You mean you let others do the choosing for you. My, aren’t you precious.
