The Lack of English Players

What exactly is Ian Wright's beef with City. That article is ludicrous in the extreme and anyone but the most rabid xenophobe will see right through it.
I just don't understand why he is so bitter about us. It was him who stirred the shit up over the Cook/Onuoha e-mail.
Surely it can't just be because of how City treated SWP, because Shaun himself has always seemed fine with us. He couldn't have been happier when we won the league.
So just what have we done to Ian Wright to piss him off so much?

Who cares? He's a fucking dickwit. His failed attempt at becoming a TV star was embarrassing.

He's another ex player who talks like he won every trophy going when in reality he was no different to the national embarrassments we're lumped with today.

I don't remember him moaning when he was winning trophies thanks to Overmars and Bergkamp either the southern twat.

Maybe he's pissed off with himself for advising a good young English player, that was a regular in the England squad, to leave City for the riches of Chelsea, only for him to end up on the beach behind foreign players and not getting picked for England much !

As some have mentioned above, I too have ALWAYS been more concerned about City than England, & I go back to the days when a team last won the league with 11 English players, which was of course City.

At the time, I didn't give a fuck that we had 11 English players, & I don't give a fuck if we have no English players now.

I would like England to do well in the World Cup, but if City's academy produce 11 players good enough to do that in the future NO WAY WILL YOU FUCKING SOUTHERN BIASED, RAG SCOUSE LICKING WANKERS ALLOW AN ENGLAND MANAGER TO PICK THEM ALL ANYWAY.

So in short Ian Wright & everyone who thinks like you do, all of you can just basically fuck off.
Great point, and well said.

I would pick a championship eleven for the world cup and some promising under 21's with maybe a Milner or Barry for a bit of leadership.

We would get to the semis at least.

Last time we had a load of English players representing the club at Wembley it was Nicky Weaver, Lee Crooks, Richard Edghill, Tony Vaughn, Jim Whitley, Ian Bishop, Terry Cooke.
Remind me what level of football that was.....
The game has moved on, fans should too.
Don't forget Andy Morrison (actually forget Mr Morrison he's a jock, but without a jock accent, so again is technically English) and Kevin Horlock (sorry Horlock was a paddy but English born, so is technically still English).

Jim Whitley was a paddy born in Zambia, but again had an English accent so is English.

England have had sub-standard teams since 1970...well before the influx of foreign players. They didn't qualify for major tournaments through the 70s and 80s. The hatred for City from people like Ian Wright is all based on xenophobia driven by papers like the Sun. There are lots of things I love about this country, including football, but the petty jealousy and bitterness towards foreign cultures displayed by some sections of our population demeans our whole nation. It's about time we grew up as a country and realised there's a big world out there. Football is now a global sport...and I'm happy with that.
