The level of coaching at City

Yes - typical pile of "We spent £250m so should be winning everything in sight" shite from a Hughes-outer.

thats not what he said at all! its quite a valid point, we don't have a style and each match is fairly unpredictable. although that said, i never get worried when we fall a goal behind because we always seem to be able to fight our way to another. but that doesnt really constitute having a style of football its just not giving up, which the op said was there but he is right on the issue of not having any sort of style or confidence to our play.

The back four is a shambles. They should be drilled as unit in training. As Heatonmoorblue points out Villa added 3 new defenders to their defence at the start of the season and they've conceeded 14 to our 21.

Regarding the midfield, Stevie I has to play every week for me. He's always available to receive the ball, most of his passes are forward and he drifts into positions that trouble the opposition. If we lose out a little bit defensively then so be it - we need something different and midfield creativity more.

Finally, I think a flat 4-4-2 is the wrong formation given the players we have. Too predictable. I'd rather go with a 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 and play more through midfield.

You know what I'd have a lot more time and patience for Hughes if he hadn't of brought all his mates from Blackburn/Wales with him. As i just don't rate them, especially after reading that Mcnabs guys report on the conversation he had with Bowen last year when he was invited to Bowen's office.

How the hell do any of us know what goes on in training. I've spoken to a couple of league managers who told me that they tell the players things week in and week out, it all seems fine on the training ground then they forget everything when they cross that white line and the referee starts the game.

So unless anyone actually knows what we do in training then shut the fuck up. I'm sick of 20-something, FM-playing, armchair experts telling me what's wrong with what experienced coaches are or aren't doing.

no one is really claiming to know but if anything is happening it should be evident on the pitch. and it isn't.

Watch the game, you can see what we should be doing. If we are not who would you blame?

Its not the tea lady or the ball boys and even if you blame the players who bought them and who keeps picking them?

I can see that we are 6th, a game in hand off fourth and in our first semi-final for 28 years so someone must be doing something right.

I wouldn't mind betting that if you care to name these managers who cannot get their players to do what they want them to they will be either a) managers who have had little or no success in their careers or b) managers who have found themselves managing players who are just not very good.

If they are not option b) then either they are exagerating and the scenario described is not a regular occurance or they will be close to getting the sack for not being able to get performances out of decent players.

Or there are a lot more teams doing something wrong!

can you also see we are losing leads constantly to the likes of Burnley, Hull, Fulham etc mostly down to shoddy disorganised defending
