Meh, bit of a joke to remove him from future games but he sounded like a twat so it's hard to care.

He probably only said it to stop the players giving the officials grief about Vinny's ridiculous red.

The assistant referee who urged Joleon Lescott to take his Manchester City teammates over to the away section at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday to thank the City supporters who paid an exorbitant £62 for each ticket has been axed by the Professional Game Match Officials Limited, the board that assigns refs and assistants to fixtures.
Assistant ref John Brooks has been removed from the midweek FA Cup replay between West Brom and QPR.
The decision is absolutely awful. Brooks said something that should have been applauded. Standing up for the common supporter. Instead, his common sense words have got him into trouble. Unbelievable.

Sounded like he had a manc accent, he could have been a blue? Why are people slagging him on here for asking lescott to do what half the fuckers on here moan about them never doing?

Rumour going round Facebook saying the linesman has now been pulled from certain matches anybody heard anything ??

He has been pulled, supposed to be doing the west brom game but taken off it. Let's do something about it...

Just to let you know, the press have covered this item this morning and we will be pushing to get as many signatures as possible by the weekend and will be ensuring The FA receive notice of it. Should enough people sign it will get the coverage to pressure them into an overrule of this ridiculous decision.

Halsey makes another mess of a match, other officials get stuff wrong all the time (linesman who missed Suarez handball v Mansfield) yet the only action taken is to drop a linesman who said something harmless. Shocking really but no surprise
