The Liverpool Thread

There side need a major overhaul starting from the top.

KK's not up to the rigours of managing at the top level of football anymore.

The players they have brought in will never be good enough play CL football.

Of the players they currently have I cannot think of one and that includes Gerrard and Suarez that any of the sides above them would use in their starting elevens.

Some of them like Kuyt and Reina have been decent soldiers but are past it now for the premiership.

Loyalty and a lack of ruthlessness on behalf of the ownership will mean they will hang on to their "stalwarts" until they call it quits.

Given the money they gave to KK you wonder whether Roy could have done worse but he was never the fans choice.

Once they clean out the old guard and I have Gerrard at the very top of that list along with KK and start again they should in time increase their chances of competing more favourably with the top few sides.

If they stay on the path they are on they will fall even further behind.

The fact that scousers are as stubborn and resistant to change will hold them back for a long time.

Unless they get a major benefactor and I suggest in time those will become less interested in having a premier league team on their CV and fewer and far between they will not add to their titles.

Great stuff, is this confirmed? There is some plonker on RAWK who says they can still win the title if they get can win their next four games

Ha ha ha yes their 0-0 with Joke City on Saturday really put their marker on the credentials! Deluded twats. How many points are they behind City now??

Probably close to 20 points without looking at the table. Don't worry, Henderson, Downing and Carroll will win them the title next year :D

The kit deal is old news but it sums up the hypocrisy that runs through that club from top to bottom.

When we did the Etihad deal, their CEO felt he had ot make a comment and their owner John W Henry sneered "What was the second highest bid?" When their kit deal came up for renewal a bit later, they did this record breaking deal with Warrior Sports for £25m a year. Adidas supposedly offered them half that based on what they said in that article. So they took the Warrior deal.

And who are Warrior? Well they're a sportswear group and part of the New Balance group, who are based in Boston USA, where Henry lives. In other words it's a "mates rates" deal, which is exactly what they accused us of.

A reply from a journalist to some tit on Rawk

Thank you for your message. I did actually read it all the way through, becoming more depressed with every line.
I shan’t go through all the issues raised by the Suarez case, since the FA commission did that with remarkable diligence and intellectual rigour. Having read the report three times, it amazes me that even the most one – eyed Liverpool supporter could quarrel with its conclusions.
What really depresses me are the trite assumptions made by those who seek to defend the indefensible. Why do you assume that I am “pro – Manchester United’? Absolute nonsense. And why assume that I am anti – Liverpool, when I have had decades of association with the club, going back to Bill Shankly. As a young reporter I used to write a weekly column with Bill and would meet him for a cup of tea and a football education whenever Liverpool were in London. The idea that I could be prejudiced against such a club is actually offensive.
As I say, I don’t want to make all the obvious points. I think the club has let itself down badly over the past few weeks. I think the arrogant and ill – founded support of Suarez has reflected badly on the club and its manager. I think that your condemnation of the FA’s part in the process is simply ridiculous, as is your confident assertion that Suarez would succeed in an action for defamation. You really haven’t a legal clue, have you?
Why do you, and so many of your fellow fans, believe that the rest of the country is anti – Liverpool? Why should those of us who live in London, say, feel any inclination to favour United, or anyone else, above Liverpool? Why do you so avidly seek the role of victim? And why do you prattle about “rent – a – quote anti – racism activists’, when you refer to people who appear more measured, more civilised than you? It’s really quite worrying for the rest of us.
Anyway, I have wasted too much time on this frivolous matter. I am pleased that justice has been done and I hope that the club and its manager will slowly start to see sense.
Best of luck with the Dalglish Day, by the way. Perhaps you might have a T – shirt printed?
Yours,
Patrick Collins.

Indeed, that was the quote that came to mind on reading the above stuff about Adidas.

You may know PB, does Warrior have a deal with Boston Redsox, would be a very easy way to artificially inflate the income of one related company, at the expense of another that doesn't have to comply with FFP rules.

Funny you should mention that;
New Balance, a brand best-known for its running shoes, has been increasing its footprint in other sports for some time now and recently announced a deal with the Boston Red Sox to manufacture their kits.

I wonder how many fans Liverpool would attract if they had dropped down to the 3rd tier and hadn't won a trophy for 34 years.
Tranmere would have a bigger following than these twats.
