Next spring will see the 130th anniversary of our founding as Manchester City. I thought the sides of the late sixties and seventies was the best time I'd have as a Blue but the last few years have blown that away.

Seven PL titles, three FA Cups, six league cups, a domestic quadruple, a PL/FA Cup/CL treble, 100 points and all the other records and achievements. Then there are the individual moments - the Aguero moment, the Vinny goal against the rags that set up that first PL win, his screamer against Leicester, Gundo & Rodri bringing us another title with their goals against Villa, Gundo's fastest ever FA Cup final goal and Rodri in Istanbul.

And then there are the players. Sergio, Vinny, Dave, Kev, Yaya, Zab, Fern, Gundogan, Raz (at his best), Edin, Erling and so many others. And of course the owners. We have been so blessed.

On balance I'd have to admit it's been better than when Beenie was at the helm.

It was already fairytale stuff given where we'd been not too long before, and then baldy came along and it's just got ridiculous:-)

Irrespective of the world club malarkey in Dec, this is currently the best football team on the planet. Be worth the match thread remembering that!

At my time of life, I can say I saw both the late 60s/early 70s and now. At the present time, it would be hard to think of a better lifespan as a City fan, despite the huge shit sandwich in the middle. My Dad only got to see two titles in his life. I have already seen eight.

Of course, if this present success continues for another 30 years or so, the generation who started watching City in 2012 or so will have a new level altogether, and will probably be utterly spoiled.

I know I'm on my own here, but my favourite season is still the season Keegan brought us up with Benarbia in the team. That was the first time in my memory that I was genuinely excited by our football.

The trophies now are great, winning the Treble is something I never thought I'd see in my lifetime and so much more as the Rags are planning celebrations next year for the 25th anniversary of their Treble (oh my, I bet they've had to redo a shit load of merchandise because of that). But that season with Keegan still resonates with me and I still wonder at some of the stuff Benarbia done.

My first game was in ‘54 so lived through it all. 23 years in the forces meant following from afar listening on forces radio or world service only getting to games on the rare occasions on leave but the last few years have more than made up for it. Never, ever in my wildest dreams did I ever think we would be playing the best football on the planet. Living the dream guys, living the dream. Make the most of it, it never lasts.

Way back in the late 1960`s I thought I`d never see another City team that won as much in such a short period.
League Winners, F.A. Cup Winners, League Cup Winners, European Cup Winners and Charity Shield Winners in a 4 year period under Joe & Big Mal.
And now look at us !!
I am one of those very lucky fans.

I've always regarded myself as lucky. Some of the football was beyond dreadful but ever since we battered Birmingham in '56 I thought if I hang on till Pep turns up we'll be more than lucky.
