I was born at a height of City success in 68. My whole family were City. I was born City.
By the time I was old enough to go to matches on my own and really get into it City were in the doldrums that lasted most of my adult life. There were highlights such as David White, 10-1, twatting utd, but it was always with the backdrop of utdutdutdutd.
All of that was worth it though. In 2012 at the age of 44, life changed. My whole family's life changed. Pride, celebration, excitement. It seemed like the party had started again. And each year since then it feels like the party has got bigger and bigger.
A lot of them have died off now, and although some of them have missed the treble they saw the trajectory City were heading on and left the world happier. Sorry to be droll, life has not been bad but it has been completed by Citys success. I feel so privileged to have lived through the barren years, the enjoyment after that has been incomparable because of it. New City fans won't get that feeling.
And for that reason I consider myself one the luckiest football fans in the world nevermind just City.
(Thomas Tallus Fantasia.. is playing in the background here and it's so apt. It's been a beautiful time to support City).
