The Maine Place

Drove in from the Parkway past the Claremont ( still open) but the whole area has changed obviously. I longed to see City chippy, the old badge shop on the corner, the supporters club etc but all gone.

It depressed me too.

As far as I'm aware non of the roads are painted Sky Blue although one is named Bluemoon Way.

couldn't watch the Liverpool game on Sunday so drove over to Maine road, then platt lane and round to xaverian for a little reminisce. is a very strange experience going back there that's for sure.

i was in Manchester before xmas and drove past, hadn't been back since we left when i was 10. Alot of memories of walking down the alleys came back, couldn't believe the old club shop was still there!

Had a drive past myself last week.

Felt like crying to be honest
Agreed. Paid a quick visit when I was over for the Hull game at the start of the season. I found it depressing and spirit crushing to be honest.

I went past a fortnight ago. I'd not been back since the last game at Maine Road and I found myself really down for a couple of hours after. I know you can't stand still and we had to move to progress but I really miss the old place. It was also sad seeing all the old boozers no longer there. I must have downed a few pints in most of them and they've nearly all gone.
All in all a really depressing visit. I don't think I'll be going back.
I definitely won't be going back. All very sad, as I spent my first 10 years on this godforsaken planet about 5-10 minutes walk from there.

:-(

All that land at the front of the picture is now what's currently being developed.

Just been looking on line for info on the houses bring built there, I thought they was built some time ago to be honest,
Looking through the plots , all the house types have names like the Allison, the Doyle, the Oakes , the Corrigan, the Lee, the Rosler , few others White, Coleman then a set of houses called the Matilda ??
Did we have a player called Matilda any time ..
