The Making Of John Stones

His performance in the CL final was incredible. Better than Rodri that night yet Rodri scored the goal and gets a balon dor.
They were both excellent that night and I'm sure John was cheering Rodders on to win the best player in the world at the Balon dor ceremony. Rodri deserved it for his overall performances that season.

Rodri won the Ballon d’Or for the 2023-24 season, not the 2022-23 season.

John Boy will be with us for a few more seasons yet. He is the BEST PLAYER IN THE BEST TEAM IN THE LAND AND ALL THE WORLD!

However, all joking, and even my John Boy tinted glasses, aside, there is one sentiment that stands out in that article. He is brave it states. He IS BRAVE, he has fought back from his horrible season, probably seen and read about the way some have slagged him off intimating he is finished and look how he performed against Palermo. It was as if he’d never been away, just had the holidays like everyone else.
He just got his head down and his feet and brain geared up to play football to ply his trade as they say.
John Stones could have thought, well I might as well give up so many are writing me off but no, he has the bravery to stick his head above the parapet and get back to work.
That is why he is my favourite. He is Superman! :-)
Thank you @HowleyBlue for finding and posting that article. :-)

His contract is up next summer, I think? I'd be surprised if the club offered him a new one, given their stance on not offering older players new contracts. Unless he takes a big pay cut, which is unlikely. Can we get one last season where he's fit for the majority of the campaign? It'd be fantastic if we could.
No chance he gets a new deal and I doubt he’d expect one.

I can’t really see him going into coaching but he’d be a fantastic ambassador in the media for us, like Lescott before him.

That's not a bad shout. But if a club from America or Saudi Arabia came offering a crazy salary for a couple of seasons, you wouldn't blame him for taking up the offer. It's all ifs and buts at the moment.

Not at all and I’d fully support him in doing that. Swan song and earning a few bob in Saudi or Yanksville then back to city as an ambassador would be the perfect scenario IMO
