The Manchester City Freakshow has begun....

Mancini took Lazio to the Champions League in his first season there, amid a financial crisis (they had to sell players like Nesta to Milan and Crespo to Inter).

Yep, you're first bit repeats what i already said about Hughes... Did Mancini take Fiorentina or Lazio from upper mid table to Champions? Not that i can recall, which is what his duty is with us.

Mourinho took Porto to CL victory, won the League with Porto/Chelsea/Inter
Hiddink took teams to the WC which werent even competing in qualifying before hand, he also looked good at Chelsea.

They've both got consistently proven credentials. So again, i'll ask the same question.

Ill aska question then. What about Hiddinks last attempt to qualify for the world cup.

he won trophies with average teams in serie A with normal financial backing, he will now be in charge of (currently) a europa league worthy team which also has a brilliant academy and is the richest team in the world!!!

i think he can acheive more here

Inter were average. Yes some other clubs were bent fuckers and he took advantage and won.. three years running.

whereas here....we are average...some other clubs (rags and Dippers) are actually bollocks so maybe he can take advantage here too.

Which takes the shine off his achievements somewhat, in that he didn't really have any direct competition for the titles as teams like Milan and Juve were busy bending the rules.

I hope you're right, my point is, we've sacked one relatively unproven manager with another, especially when looking at the alternatives we may or may not have been looking at... Was this really the best time to make what, imo, is quite a high risk and slightly confusing change?

Time will tell, i'm not saying it isn't, but this is a bigger risk than bringing in a Hiddink or a Mourinho-esque manager.

Go on... explain, where are his top level credentials bar Inter, who already had the best team in the league and won the titles with the help of other teams match fixing?

This simply isn't true.

I've kept my quote in there because thats not the question i asked, it wasn't a direct comparison of the two; but like i've just said, Mancini doesn't have a proven track record of winning the league in a number of countries, or winning the PL with another English club, or turning mid table teams into title contending sides.

So where are his credentials of this job? If its his Serie A titles with Inter and his Italian FA Cup wins i'd personally say thats not the greatest CV to take us over.

I'll spell out i'm not saying Mancini is a bad manager or the wrong choice, but that he is, as yet, somewhat wet behind the ears with a task such as ours.

Ill ask again again, Hiddink steadied a proven premiership team of internationals. And did WHAT? with his latest world cup qualifying campaign?

Thats what a track record is all about. No manager is perfect, but Hiddink and Mourinho have achieved consistently in many roles.

Mancini has been out of work for a year since being sacked, another point to think about; why wasn't he snapped up before us?

Could you see either of the other two managers being out of work for so long?

For soemone who gets "tired" writing anymore than a sentence, you don't give me much time to reply! ;)

We should all know by now that next week we are going to slaughtered in the press but it will be no more than usual. I have sympathy with Hughes because I do think he put his all into trying to get this club firing on all six from the beginning but his tactics in certain games were very naive.
A lot of fans are screaming that we have gone about this all wrong and I do agree that it has painted us as very very unprofessional in the treatment of our manager but come January how many of you will forget about that when Mancini secures the services of a couple of stella signings .
It is a results business and any chairman or owner that puts up that much money will demand instant success, if the money was being put up by you wouldn't you want your return pretty quick ?

Do you wanna ask why he never took the chelsea job on full time, seeing as you ask more than your heads got time for?
