The Masters 2013

Pretty much won't be moving from the sofa from Thursday through to Sunday, absolutely love The Masters.

Like to have a couple at long odds. Jacobson at 150/1, Molinari at 200/1 and KJ Choi at 100/1 appeal.

Anyone know who the guy(think his name is palmer) who writes in the rp sunday on golf is tipping?

Decided my money is going on Oosthuizen at 28/1. Will cheer the Brits as always but Oosthuizen just seems to be a really consistent player and seems like good ew value.

Tiger.

Rose-putting all over the place under pressure.
Scott-Have to keep the Open last year in mind.
Oosty-Showing no form.
Bubba-as above.

Not saying they can't do it and golf's as unpredictable as any sport, The Masters likes to churn out unpredictable winners. They're probably a good bet for T10 finishes though.

You'd have backed Phil all the way last year yet Bubba won it, and no-one would realistically have plumped for Zach Johnson, Schwartzel, Immelman, Weir or Cabrera really. It's 8 years since Tiger last won it so he has to be favourite.

Kuchar is in decent nick and finished 3rd last year, if you want an outside bet on a T10 then Couples has done well the past couple of years here despite his age. The same names turn up on the final leaderboards, Westwood, Poulter, KJ, Paddy(those 2 in good nick) even Mahan has a few T10's(not much form though). You can't discount the fact that Snedeker finished 3rd there about 5 years ago but he's not had any form since his injury. Keegan Bradley has picked up 5 T10's this year, could be worth a punt as when he's on it he wins but you just never know with him.

If you want a complete outside punt, of players you'd deem to have no chance John Merrick has a win under his belt this year and a T6 at Augusta with 2 other T10's in Majors, though the year after his 6th he did miss the cut in 2010. Michael Thompson won this year and has only placed once at Augusta, missed the cut but in recent major appearances finished T2 at last year's difficult US Open, was cut at The Open and PGA though. Bill Haas is a cut maker and has 5 T10's but can't get the win at the moment this year, maybe worth a T10 punt if you can find an offer like that. Jason Day is quietly going about his business, 3 T10's including a 3rd in the Matchplay, not missed a cut this season and his only Masters finish was a 2nd place, on his way back after a very difficult year last year. Richard Sterne has a win and hasn't finished outside the T20 this year, apparently also lives in Manchester for part of the year, make of that what you will, has a T25 and a MC when playing at Augusta.

As far as somebody like a G-Mac goes, he either misses the cut or finishes in the top 20 at Augusta. Finished no worse than 12th in any major last year and has 3 T10's this season in just 5 appearances.

I always let my heart rule my head in golf so will always have a punt on Sergio. It's hard to see past the usual suspects though. If Tiger plays well he wins.

You can still get 84/1
Tbh i wouldnt take 840/1

You'd have to give me 8400/1 and a guinness to make me even a tad interested. It's almost as obvious as the other ten or so saying they fancy Adam Scott this week ;)

Come on Leighton, a couple of top tens is nowhere near good enough for Paddy at the masters. How many attempts as he had? 20? For 4 or 5 of those he'd have been considered one of the top 5 players in the world.

McDowell is a much better ew value bet.

I know Harrington himself wouldnt be happy with how he has done at the Masters so far. I remember 1 year he was in contention playing with Tiger and he went on the last few holes badly finding the water and ruining because he was in contention and needed to make a risky shot to close the gap and it cost him a few places. I think this is all about keeping the ball in play as much as you can and you need a straight hitter and lethal putter to hold those putts on the final days play.

My bets for what its worth.
Ian Poulter €1.50 each way @ 45/1
Bo Van Pelt 50 cent each way @ 110/1
Paddy Harrington @ 55/1 €1 each way ( i know i know a bet with my heart than my head).

I put a pound on Luke Donald at 33/1 last of the big spenders me! Just because I like him.

Gutted that the final round is clashing with the post match drink on Sunday - il be glued to it from the par 3 tournament through to Saturday night though... I'm backing Westwood - hope his move to the states will be the difference this year just hope his short game holds up for 4 days.

I couldn't resist the 9/2 about Tiger.

Betvictor are doing Moneyback if either Tiger or Rory win. I've had a nibble on Oostheuizen at 30/1 with them.

Mickelson has an amazing record there, so can't be ruled out.

I like doing the top markets (Top GB, Top SA, Top Amateur etc). Gives you an interest away from the main event in smaller fields.

Choi @80/1 e/w
M Thompson @300/1 e/w

Steve palmer. If you get a chance then read his book he is one serious gambler and its also a great read. A year in his life of all the bets he makes. He stakes £800 on 80/1 shots and there are some crazy bets in there.

DJ at 34.0 - £10
Watney at 80.0 - £5
Dufner at 80.0 - £5
Rory at 13.0 - £10

gutted im gonna miss the last days play due to the journey back from Wembley but i wouldnt change it ;)

Anybody having a few quid on the 14 year old kid from China. Apparently he can only drive the ball 250 yards so he must have a great short game. He is odds-on to make the cut which seems a poor price. Unfortunately there is no betting for him to miss the cut.
