My Czech commentary said it was his 2nd shot from a decent position in the fairway but it looked like his first had gone into the trees. Lucky bounce or the commentary team made a mistake?

He was much further back than usual. Lost about 80 yards on the tee, hit a tree but bounced into the fairway.

Li's shot must have been one of the worst in professional golf. Didn't get a replay here but it looked a woeful hacker's shot. Didn't just not carry the pond/stream but seemed to top it so it bounced once or twice before hitting the water.
Makes me feel a bit better about my game ;-)
