The Americanisation of our society.
From the way tele programmes are produced, to reality television, obsession with "celebrity", (this has gone on for a long time but)people singing in American accents (why the fuck do they do it when they're from Barnsley or wherever?). The whole razzmatazz bollocks. It's everywhere. It's even at City games with Greeters and the daft shit on the screens. It's fucking shite! At comedy shows, people in this country never used to applaud during a joke, even between jokes, they just used to laugh and applaud at the end, now there's applause every few seconds while jokes are still going - why?
Proper hate it all, me, especially the change in language to "American" rather than "English". The incorrect use of the word "myself", "you've done good", "can I get a pint?", "I'm watching season four", the disappearance of "ly" from adverbs, "whooooooo oooooo!", there are many many more examples.
One abhors it, all! So let's fuck Americanisation off for good because it's proper fucking shit !

Quite agree. We gave them the bloody language, the least they could do is speak it correctly, like what we does round ere.
That bloody air-head weather presenter Lucy Verasamy, half the time she can't read the autocue and the rest she's mangling the English language with phrases like "it's going to be freezing, frosty and icy", "late and low sunshine" and all the time she's waving her arms around like a demented tic tac man.
