the monday view on sky

Thought the ref got both penalty calls right.

Coleman did the same thing against Negredo in the first half, he pulls the player around to knock them off balance, then complains about it when they fall.

Nastasic and Lukaku was a defender using his strength to stop a striker getting to a ball that was going out of play. Happens all the time.

If it was United we'd never have heard anymore of this.

Plenty of football fans whinging about it to me as if it's just made our season. It was a penalty in a game we were more than likely to win. Lukaku, for a monster of a man, fell like a sack of shit looking for it, I didn't think it was a penalty in the ground and watching it again last night hasn't changed my opinion on the 'non-decision'.

If Alan Wiley said that then it's inconsistent with his claim that Koschielny challenge wasn't a pen as the ball was no-where near.

The ball makes no difference to me though.

The key difference between Lukaku and Zab was that Nastasic was between lukaku and the ball and was standing his ground.

Coleman held zab back.

There is an obsession with "diving" at the moment. People seem to be ignoring, and thinking it's ok for people to cheat by holding ppl back or tripping them up.

Any other cases of diving from the games this weekend I heard a rumour that a player dived at the Stadium of Light. Don't have Sky Sports so any update on this weeks diving champ.

apparantly lukaku was a deffo pen and zabs dived.i don't think any were myself both very soft.

What you got to ask yourself is was lukaku getting to the ball NO!
and was zabba YES!
Thought the ref got both decisions right about the only ones he did tho.

Inconsistent refereeing, he either gives both or neither of them. There was no "diving" involved.

Disagree.

You won't see this in slo-mo but watch it real time and watch Lukaku's run closely. Lukaku gets in front of nastasic and checks his run knowing Nastasic will go into the back of him. Nastasic doesn't put his hand up to shove him over - why would he - but because otherwise he collides with Lukaku. He (Lukaku) initiated the contact - in other words he went looking for a penalty and didn't get it. Plainly Lukaku didn't dive but he tried to win a penalty nonetheless.

Coleman on the other hand puts out an arm to impede Zaba - no other reason. Zaba went down easily (Sergio would have stayed on his feet) but he didn't initiaite the contact - it was a penalty.

Joleoninho copped for this kind of pen when we playes Wolves at the Etihad. Doyle when running across the penalty area by the goal line and slammed on the brakes just as Lescott got upto him and crashed into him. Doyle goes flying forwards. One of the best manufactured pens of that season!!
