The most awe inspiring place you've been

If you're going to South America you have to go to Bolivia! I don't have the photos but Salar de Uyuni, Laguna Colorada and that whole area is amazing. La Paz is spectacular. Lago Titicaca is beautiful. Everythings cheap as chips, great place.

Sssshhhhh

Today I'm booking flights to visit South America and included is a trip to see Cristo Redentor in Brazil. To say I'm excited is an understatement.

However what is the one place people have been around the World that really makes you step back and truly appreciate where you are?

So far for me it's Niagra falls which redefined natural beauty.

Whilst you're in Brazil get down to Iguazu Falls.

this.

the A380's lined up at Dubai airport was pretty impressive to a rustic like me
The Grand Coulee Dam and laser show was pretty good too, not Las Vegas but the setting makes up for it
A pod of orcas off Queen Charlotte was good but a Humpback lifting it's tail as it dives beats anything in nature (imo)
Not a betting man but the Grand National is/can be f'ing awesome, you see it, hear it feel the ground shake, get swept up in whole thing.
Good thread , even though i envy those who have seen so much more of the planet

Glad Stuart likes the Christie. My mum works there and I've done a few shifts taking meals to patients during uni holidays. The commitment of the nurses, especially, is really impressive and the whole institution is a great great thing.

I've been really awed in the lake district before.

But probable number one awe inspiring place has been Ethiopia, specifically the landscape and churches of Tigray and Lalibela. On my phone so no photos, but look them up.
