I will never forget the night I heard we were signing Macpointalot - it was on 5live sports news at about midnight when I caught a bit of it but was not sure what I had heard so waited with bated breath and a feeling of some excitement for the next bulletin. When I heard confirmation I could hardly sleep thinking about the prospect of seeing a player of such skill and quality , who had played for some of the top clubs in Europe actually playing in a City shirt - it was almost unbelievable!
