Evening all.

The Mrs has been getting some headaches recently, she’s been to the docs and not concerned, prescribed some medication for migraines. She’s only taken one and hasn’t had a bad headache for a while.

Anyway, she’s taken a call today from her doctors to book an appointment to discuss results of blood tests; I know it’s usually there’s something wrong if the doc wants to discuss. She’s booked in for next Tuesday.

The positive side of me says it’s 8 days away so can’t be that serious, probably something out of range, sugars, cholesterol etc. The negative side of me is shitting it.

Anyway had experience of this? Should I worry? (I of course play it down with her and suggest it’s nothing)

My missus was diagnosed with a thyroid issue after routine blood tests. Was absolutely sh*tting myself, but it turned out to be totally treatable. All you can do is wait until the appointment and take it from there.

If you have permission from your surgery you can view the test results on the nhs app, it shows you normal ranges for everything so you can get an idea what is going on, the fact you have eight days to wait for the appt points to nothing serious

Thanks everyone, looking for that reassurance!

@kaz7 didn’t realise that, will let her know and see if she can access

You and yours have had a shitty enough time of it recently so I hope it is as everyone suggests. If it was urgent then they would whisk her in sooner.

Good luck to you both.
Thanks mate.

I’ve made a demand that there’s no talk of hospital, doctors or anything in-between during 2022!

I'm guessing that, if her GP's initial examination hinted at anything serious, she wouldn't be kept waiting 8 days for her blood tests. Try not to worry fella, sometimes the glass is half full, not half empty.

Just going from the 8 days thing it sounds like a lifestyle/diet change will be suggested or similar. If it was serious they would want to be seeing her much sooner i would imagine.

I hope it is indeed nothing serious, best wishes to you and your wife.
