So no evidence needed you accept something with no proof for it's existence.

Worse than that you live your life with these beliefs in mind ?.

Why not have Peter Pan as your deity ?

Have you never enquired into the epistemology of physics and then looked at religious ?

Yeah Peter Pan is cool but I rather believe in God, its called faith. Im sure if God reveals himself to the world and descends from heaven in glory with a thousand angels. The whole world will believe and worship him right?., but then there will be no challenge and no real test and opportunity to exercise faith.

You have to seek God and he will reveal himself to you.

Religious faith = the mentality to believe anything.

But what he is saying is that there is no difference in you believing in God and someone believing in Peter Pan.

Let me say it like this.

From a young age a child is taught that Peter Pan is the one who created the universe and that he is real. We know this because we can read about him in a book. He teaches us certain things in this book. The child having never been taught anything else adamantly believes this to be true.

Yet you believe in Jesus, you "know" he is wrong because it is your faith. This person would use the exact same arguments as you do for God about Peter Pan.

You say that you must rely on your faith, yet time and again science disproves things that were once accepted solely on faith alone, over and over and over again faith is shown to be false. If you were Greek back in ancient times you would believe in Zeus yet we know for a fact that thunder and lightning has very real causes that we can see and determine.

If you do believe in this God even still how can you possibly justify the amount of suffering he has caused within the Bible?

I can only pray that God reveals himself to you in his own way.

-- Wed Mar 13, 2013 1:25 am --

I used to be a firm believer in the Catholic church to the point I honestly considered become a priest. I had a firm devotion to St. Joseph and the Virgin. I was adamant about Jesus and God. Yet the more I experienced life, the more I came to realize that it's not true. I have been lied to by many people that I trusted in my life. They willingly made me fear everything I did in life because it might upset this guy in the sky.

But guess what there is nothing in the world that I have ever found that has showed me any truth about God. No matter how much during this personal struggle I begged and pleaded with God for a sign nothing was provided. All information provided to me, every single thing in the world has shown me that there is no god. There is absolutely nothing in the world that any person has ever told me that I cannot eventually find to disprove as evidence for God. There is nothing in the world besides wilful ignorance that leads to this belief.

Can i just say Bounded i agree fully but the catholic church is devious.

They gain followers also by prothletising in places with no education so that is not actually wilfull, it is however disgusting.

'We will build you housing...but you have to read this bible and follow this god'

...kinda thing.

That is definitely a devious form of brainwashing.

I wonder when it will be that people (as in the majority not the entirety of human civilization) will finally stop believing in this nonsense. Not in my life time I know this but I would enjoy knowing.

It is one of the few things that makes me smile at the prospect mate.

We can look at the highest areas of education, nordic countries basically and look at the religious faith held in those countries.

It is very low and lowering fast.

Cheers for your good wishes and prayers.

But this geezer who has spent years studying medical science reckons I might have a problem due to excessive smoking and drinking alcohol.

I once had a wank thinking of Judith Chalmers which I think put me in God's bad book. Never had a Christmas card off him since.
