Don't think its for me though I'll give it another watch to see. Evans seemed to treat it like a TFI Friday episode and the BBC have enlarged the audience to suit. Some bits were good and Le Blanc was good in patches though he was like a midfielder out of his depth or just too old to cut the mustard - he seemed to need to take an extra touch and slow the whole thing down or maybe I am not yet on his laconic wavelength I'll have to see - ultimately OK just not Top Gear and never was going to be.

My opinion of Evans remains. Noisy, brash and boring. Could probably watch a bit more of the Yank but there is nothing really going on, it's all been done before. Cars getting shot shot with lasers, 4x4s in the sand, dirt bike jumps car in the desert, car races fighter plane, Reliant Robins, and a landrover up a mountain. Come on Auntie, you expect us to tune in next week

Yes, the show was pretty much more of the same but not as good. The films weren't as high quality as we've seen before and evans was a bit lame. Plus there were no interesting cars for me.

No matter how much people whinge about Clarkson and his buddies, they made that show what it was.....a worldwide phenomenon

Trying to follow them with new presenters was a massive mistake, wtf were they thinking?

Just come up with a different show instead of trying to re-create the old one, there must be some very dim bastards at the BBC

I figured this would be a massive flop without Clarkson and the guys. They made the last show, it had nothing to do with the cars. Without them it's just like any other car show.

I did say this from the outset - rather like the recent Dad's Army film - strong cast of people involved who just should know better than to get involved in what is a kareoke version of an audience favourite.

TG should have been laid to rest and a new show been invented... same with the Dads Army movie - been done before with family favoruites and in both cases the only conclusion could have been

a/ Its not Top Gear
b/ Its alright - but its not Top Gear is it.

Thats what happens when you try to reinvent the wheel.
