The NHS...2025.

Horror stories even 40 years ago nothing has really changed and it wont change until people get the idea of having an NHS with a million Barbara Windsor types running about like industrious Duracell bunnies overseen by a stern Matron.

Needs completely redoing top to bottom it's a shitstorm.
a war should sort it all out.....matter of time

Some time ago, I posted about my deteriorating spine in another thread. Several people replied and asked to be kept up to date. Since then, I have not posted anything as I am ln a waiting list of SEVEN MONTHS for an appointment with the pain relief clinic. Meanwhile Iam in serious continuous pain and cannot walk more than a few metres at a time. Standing up is limited to about three minutes.
Hey Ho.

Iv just managed to book an apointment with pyshsio for Oct 8th, this after i went off work on May 10th this year, from seeing the relevant muscuoskeletal doc on june 12th,it's only took 14 weeks for my letter on monday this week to arrange the oct appointment.
I'v been back in work already for 10 weeks.

Hey Ho.
Why don't you see a private physio?

Something should be done but I don't know what.

Extra tax that gets funnelled into the NHS? But of course that doesn't address the issues that (i) there aren't enough staff in the NHS and (ii) is the money being spent wisely or is pointless beauracracy eating it up?

Sorry that you had to go through this and I hope the pain eases up soon.
I work in the NHS and what you all don't hear about us the cutbacks and how many of my colleagues are being offered voluntary redundancy and if not taken then it is going to consultation in October and they will start making some amazing nurses redundant

So we are short of nurse but the NHS are going to make a load of them redundant. Do you know why this is?

That’s bad news. From the outside, the logical answer would be that there is simply not enough money to run the NHS. Seems like Labour are not doing much to back up their election promises.

Not physio but neutralising of the nerves. This is at a private hospital on contract to NHS. My consultant rang round and could not find any alternative,so I’m stuck with it. Apparently, the delay is because the NHS does not have the money to pay for the treatment. As a pensioner, I can’t afford it either! If you have a spare £20,000 just pm me.

Simple really the NHS is oversubscribed and underfunded, there is a tremendously in depth answer as to why this which incorporates many different facets but the crux of it is that. I sympathise for everyone who is in current pain and waiting.

This is the issue here, its the money to pay for the treatments for most people that just isnt there.

There is no shortage of nurses in reality. In fact many graduate nurses can't find jobs. It's the shortage of money to actually employ them that seems to be the problem.

We have been informed that they have 12 months to reduce debt and that stands at £17.5 million, trust me when I say we no longer have a budget for anything anymore, community now have to provide their own stationary as these will no longer be provided

I’ve been waiting 18 months for what was a simple procedure in the beginning. To having to under go general anathestic to now address the problem. If they had sorted it originally could have saved the NHS some time and cost. And myself from having a worsening condition.

Makes you wonder why they brought in the retire and return thing in doesn't it.
I did mine in april this year after reaching 60 in february.

And since then, the stress I have gone through trying to get the correct ammount for my pension instead of the estimated one I'm currently being paid.

Sad but true what a waste of talent, yet they keep piss taking admin staff who don't turn up for work and do the bare minimum and are constantly enabled by third rate inept managers who don't seem to be accountable to anyone, it's a shit show and a total shambles yet it goes on year after year with zero repercussions.

Where do you work?

NHSE is the mechanism for controlling and has oversight of NHS services for doctors dentist and pharmacists. After NHSE is abolished, who will have this control mechanism?

I'm not sure you'll get much sympathy for the abolishing of bureaucrats to free up money for care.

If only that’s what it was doing.
I know it’s not a popular view but the NHS is chronically under managed, not over managed.
Every single government comes in and says ‘we’ll get rid of bureaucrats to free up money for patients’ and, guess what, it never, ever works.
