seem to remember komps leaving his marker for dead in the derby last year and scoring the winner didnt hear as much about man for man by neville then.systems are about people and people make mistakes.if every system was perfect every game would be 0 0 no thanks

All systems require the ability of the players to follow instructions, we obviously have that and the defensive record of the last two seasons will back that up.

No system in the world can account for lapses in concentration or loss of form from players and unfortunately that's where we are now. There is no need to point fingers or name names we can see it and I'm sure with hard work the players can come through the other side.

We had the best defence for the last two years playing it so it clearly works. Lescott just didn't do his job and arguably Clichy although I haven't really ever taken notice if we use men on the post anyway?

every system has its pro and cons, but overall zonal is better and its no coincidence that most managers come to that conclussion.

man on man if your man get beat you are in big big trouble. It also means smaller players will have to defend the most vulnerable areas in the penalty area. Teams will just isolate your bigger guys and take them out of the game if they are just following a guy, they go where the guy goes. With Zonal you put your best headers in the most vulnerable areas and increases the chances that you win headers in those areas
