There were rumours of a PN film a while back.

Phoenix Nights for me. My parents are avid WMC members and I used to get dragged to loads, on a Saturday growing up as a kid.
If I hadn't known at the time, that PN was written by Peter Kay, Dave Spikey and Neil Fitzmaurice I would have thought it was a reality documentary.

Not a massive fan of Peter Kay's stand up but I think the majority of PN was written by Spikey/Fitzmaurice (criminal their careers have faded and Peter Kay has some sort of National Treasure status) and the "How far away are they?" scene with the Bolton Wanderers supporting dwarves was written by Paddy McGuinness, so I dont think Peter Kay wrote as much of it, as people give him credit for.

Could actually be a North/South divide here - PN more up north can relate to the crap entertainment venue vibe and down south more can relate to the office environment especially as it’s a branch in slough.

Phoenix Nights all the time for me! I love Ricky Gervais doing stand up and his Golden Globes stuff never ever gets boring to me, but I just didn’t ‘get’ The Office. It went over my head.
