The Official Ashes 09 Thread

Ponting side took 19 wickets, Strauss' took 6 in a similar amount of overs. Our last two test captains were born in outh Africa, which is the big shame.

The Aussies had a rubbish spinner who took far more wickets than our two, on a wicket supposed to "turn square" by day 3.

We were humiliated but got away with a draw. Bowling wise there is not much difference, but we are well behind when it come to batting. If Lee is back next test it will be a struggle. It is hard to be support of the ECB's team the way they treat some counties.

Well said.

At the end, just to be pedantic, North was bowling massive no balls. No relation to what you said, just making an observation.

Poor showing trying to take it out of context, Jimharri. I responded to this:-

Think the match referee should look at Ponting's behaviour with three overs left when the physio came off.

What a cock munch.

But hey, whingeing Poms ;)

You said you hadn't whinged. I showed you two examples where you did. Still, never mind. Your captain has taken over now, whinging about the 12th man and the physio coming on. Granted, the physio was an unwelcome development. The 12th man however is part of the team.

do you remember ian healy asking for a runner a few years back, over here when trying to scrape a draw.

the worst case of time wasting and cheating ive seen.

even the umpire sent the runner back to the pavillion after 1 over.

when healy hit the 1st ball and sprinted like usain bolt up the wicket, forgetting he had an 'injury'

But the Aussies are allowed to do it, whereas other sides aren't. Sounds like a football team we're all familiar with!

abso- fooking-lutly.

never their fault, when they dont win.

Aussies can never get into an arguement about sporting behaviour after rolling that ball against New Zealand to stop them getting a boundary.
