He hasn't said anything on his Twitter about being injured.

Gai is becoming one of the great mysteries of our club, he really is a talented player so what is happening and why isn't he appearing even in EDS friendlies? Maybe the guy from mcfcreservesandacademy.co.uk can find out as he goes to all the youth games - his son posts on here I think?

He has a son?

could just be that he isn't good enough and not in our (and the manager's plans).
would be still playing in the eds matches though and when he played against england u21 he was the best player on the pitch.

I know that's who he meant and that's why I asked the question.

hey all Daniel here, Andrews son (the guy that runs mcfc reserves and academy) just thought i would post to give you an in sight on how mcfc reserves and academy is run. Andrew is the guy that runs the site, updating the news, profiles and stats, And Gavin provides the excellent reports, dedicating his time to home & away matches, like nobody else does. We hope you like our work .

ps. we presume Assulin is injured as we haven't seen him as of late, and he is not that brilliant

EDS vs. Barca tonight in Spain. On the heels of three losses in the NextGen it would be good if the lads could pick up some results in the last three games starting tonight.

Christ on a bike, 2-0 down to Barca before half-time. The NextGen disaster continues. :x

3-0...

-- Thu Nov 03, 2011 9:16 pm --

4-1 FT, Devante Cole got a late goal but outplayed again. 0 wins, 0 draws, 4 defeats.

lol this new league thing was a disaster

Our academy has a ways to go.

People were saying that we've opted out of the league... so who are we going to play now?

I think our academy is fine, this hybrid of the academy and reserves under a different coach than the academy (Welsh does the EDS, Sadler does the academy/U19s but I don't know if each has a say in the other team) has not worked out well at all.

Look at how well the U19s are doing under Sadler, perhaps he should be put in charge of the EDS for these games:

http://www.premierleague.com/page/YouthCTable

So if our academy is no good, what does that say about United, Liverpool, and Everton who are well below us in the league?

How long til Mike D comes on calling for the "kingmaker" to return LOL.

Scapuzzi & Mancini go to Oldham on loan, Bunn to Rochdale.

Huge chance for Bunn, really hope he does well.

feels like all the good work we were starting to do by the end of the last season is coming undone with this european nonsense.

just have the lads playing every saturday and get them used to 2 games a week by using the euro comp as a secondary, not a primary way forward.

U18s lost top spot to Blackburn today with a 4-2 loss. This was nestled between NextGen games and that seemed to have an effect as there were players missing like Hiwula and Suarez (think he is injured).

Nope Andy Welsh is doing so well isn't he another game another spanking. Since he's come in things have really started to turn around haven't they?

They were missing a hell of a lot more than those 2.Add in Gunn or Halsall (keepers) Coulson,Rekik,Kennedy,MeppenWalter,Clowes,Huws,Evans,Drury.

Basically the whole team was missing so it was avery young inexperienced side today and it showed.Having said that they battled really hard against a full strength Blackburn side who were both older and much much bigger and stronger.

It didnt help when the ref gave a strange decision which basically decided the game.At 1.1 there was a igh ball in the box which our (small)keeper was trying to get to and was barged into by a big lump of a center forward. The linesman immediately signalled for a foul but the ref didnt spot that so play went on and the ball was knocked toward the net and our center back knocked it away with his hand.He was sent off and they scored from the pen.

The ref was forced to speak to the linesman who must have bottled it as the decision stood but clearly he had signalled for a foul for City when the challenge was made on the keeper.Apart from good battling performances ,mostly in defence I was impressed with Ruznak who scored a nice goal from 20 yards but also showed a good touch and midfield ability. His game has come on a lot this year I would say.

Disappointing today for me were Henshall and Cole.Henshall did score early on after a shot was parried to him but generally was so lightweight he just couldnt hold onto the ball and never got into the game.Cole the same.I watched him closely for a while and he actually seemed lazy to me which I know he is accused of by some who see him more than I do. He just didnt make many runs and was rarely available for a pass.It maybe a bit strong but it was like having 2 passengers at times.

He's not in charge of the Under 18's so you might as well blame Andres Villa Boas for the defeat as well if you are blaming Welsh for it.

Academy football is all about producing players, not teams. Results are nice but mean fuck all.

Greg Hartley, Dedryck Boyata, Ben Mee, Kieran Trippier, Ryan McGivern, Andrew Tutte , Vladimír Weiss, Scott Kay, David Ball, Róbert Mak, Donal McDermott, Filip Mentel, Abdi Ibrahim, Angelos Tsiaklis, Alex Nimely-Tchuimeni , James Poole.

That team that ran away with the league two years running, won more of less every tournament they competed in and won the FA Youth cup has produced players for Rochdale, Huddersfield, Macclesfield, Hartlepool and Wrexham!

So yeah lets focus on results rather than the development of players....................

I managed to get over to the Nextgen game against Barca on Thursday, The first 20 minutes were quite even, Hiwula had two great chances to score but fluffed them both when it was probably easier to score. Straight after the second miss Barca went up the other end and scored, from then on in it was all Barcelona in a typical performance with fast passing and closing down city every time they lost the ball. Suarez played very well for city, but unforunately he was on a different planet to the rest of the team, he got injured (knee) half way through the second half, he was in agony having treatment hopefully it was an impact injury rather than a tear/pull. Johansen made some good saves, and Coulson played well at full back, Roman got into the game in the second half after being quiet in the first. Henshall was the biggest disappointment he was very poor. Rekik also didnt stand out, which i would have expected, he was caught on the ball a number of times and tended to pick the wrong pass.
