on the highlights can't danny just commentate instead of us having to cut back to him every 30 seconds?

That's just the format they go with JMW they show the highlight's and want my reaction to the incidents, they just want to do it a little bit different to the normal sit in a studio watching the highlights and doing the voiceover, where in effect i wouldn't even need to go to the game....

I don't mind you at the game, and I like you interviewing the lad at HT, I just think you doing commentary as you see it and then maybe doing a review of the half rather than breaking it up every incident I'd prefer, but that's just my opinion lol.

also after the first Burnley goal, you call them Rochdale? tut tut :P.

any news on if they'll do any live games this season? i really enjoyed it last year.

Yeah I can see what ure saying mate, suppose things might change over the course of the season!

I know I don't know why th hell I called them Rochdale, maybe it's because I was talking about Steve Eyre just before or the fact I am a complete plank I'm not sure. lol

At the min I don't think they have any plans to stream any games but things might change depending on how well we do in the NextGen Series etc..... i'll keep u posted mate!

good stuff, I'd like to see an EDS fanzone, there must be 1 punter who turns up for the away team...;P.

Just the thought of you going crazy over a wonder strike by Andrea Mancini or summit lol.

Unfortunate, would have liked to see Assulin against better competition than the Oldham's of the world.

You have to wonder exactly what Assulin, Wabara, and any others who can't play in that tournament like Chantler are going to do this season with us not in the reserve league this season (to my understanding). Will we arrange a ton of friendlies or something? Assulin was wanted by Palace on loan with Guidetti but the club blocked it so maybe he is in first team plans?

I think you can loan a player to a team in a lower division at any time, so that still could be on the cards I suppose.

Fantastic from the club for showing the EDS and Academy games this week.

Academy - <a class="postlink" href="http://www.mcfc.co.uk/Video/Match-highlights/City-U18s-v-Ipswich-U18s" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.mcfc.co.uk/Video/Match-highl ... swich-U18s</a>

Kieran Kennedy played for the U19's against Holland last night.

Looks like McClaren will raid the loan market when it opens, will we send Wabara, Assulin, or Razak there maybe? Does Mancini feel our 21 man squad (including Hargreaves who is not expected to play for a while) + Savic + Balotelli is big enough though, because if not those three may be on the fringes of the first team for Carling Cup and if there are any bad injuries.

We won it 6-0... Great start to the season for our U18's. Wish the OS would show these games live.

Excellent coverage on the OS now of the U18's. Seems they have their own reporter now in Emily Brobyn.

A stunning performance from City resulted in the Blues beating Huddersfield Town 6-0 in a spellbinding rout in the Barclays Premier Academy League.
Goals from Greg Leigh, Emyr Huws, Albert Rusnak, Jordy Hiwula, Alex Henshall and Devante Cole kept up City’s impressive 100% record in the season so far.

It was a dominant and enthralling first half for City, and the young Blues opened the scoring after just three minutes when Greg Leigh placed a rising header high into the net past Huddersfield’s goalkeeper, Jordan Porter.

A crunching tackle on Terrier’s defender Dominic Dickinson resulted in the young defender suffering a broken leg, with play stopped for several minutes.

Emyr Huws made it two just moments after the restart when the midfielder slotted home from the edge of the box after another promising attack from City. The home side continued to attack with vigour and confidence, producing a plethora of chances to extend their lead further.

The Terriers struggled to cope with City’s pace and invention and it was little surprise when Rusnak made it three on the stroke of half time after a cross from the right from Adam Drury.

The second half provided no let-up for Huddersfield with the Blues striving to increase their lead even further. On 50 minutes a cross from the pacy Luke Coulson from the right was met with a glancing header from Hiwula. Minutes later, Rusnak fed the ball through to the lively Henshall, who calmly slotted the ball past Porter to make it five.

A composed and assured display by the home side was rounded off with a goal from substitute Devante Cole. With his Dad Andrew watching on, Cole combined with Huws to fire a powerful shot into the net. Head of Academy Mark Allen was understandably delighted with the team’s effort.

“It was a terrific display,” he smiled. “We asked the boys to be at it from the start today and that’s exactly what they did. We got the early goals and pushed on from there, it was a very satisfying performance. It’s still early in the season but they all displayed the right attitude throughout the game until the final whistle.

“It’s important to keep the momentum going. You’re only as good as your last game but if the lads display that attitude again it should sit us in good stead.”

Manchester City:
Halsall, Coulson, Kennedy, Plummer, Leigh, Clowes, Drury (Cole 62), Huws, Hiwula, Rusnak (King 55), Henshall (Evans 57).

Unused subs:
Gunn, Glendon.

Gonna have to get down and see them, they play Newcastle next Saturday at 12pm, might go there first and go straight to the Wigan game.

I am curious from those of you that might get to see some of the matches involving these kids if there are any that stand out in making the top squad and if so, how far out does one think that some of these kids might be seen up there?

I can't comment with the same knowledge as some who go to all the youth games, having only seen bits and pieces, but George Evans seems to be quite special, Devante Cole has a great eye for goal, and while I have doubts he will make it with us, Albert Rusnak is very entertaining to watch.
