The official EDS and academy thread 2011/12

From ESPN's match report:

An inspirational performance from debutant Alex Nimely helped basement club Coventry to a 3-1 victory over nine-man Middlesbrough who suffered their third successive league defeat.

The on-loan Nimely, who spent the first half of the season with Middlesbrough, set up Gary McSheffrey for the game's opening goal and added a second early in the second half after Kevin Thomson had been sent off.

I love that he tore apart Middlesbrough, they gave him barely any chances on loan there, usually off the bench after 85 minutes.

If he has a good spell at coventry I hope he will return back to us next season with guidetti and we re-enter the reserve league and both play a mixture of reserve football and playing as 4th striker.

-- Sat Jan 21, 2012 6:33 pm --

http://www.skybluestalk.co.uk/threads/1 ... eeelllyyy!! they really like nimely

Andy Thorn(Coventry Manager)

"People hadn't heard of him (Alex Nimely) before today. Well they have heard of him now! He's a real talent this boy and I am so pleased that we could get him under the radar.

"There is still more to come from him but he gave us a different dimension''

An EDS team comprised of youth, experience (Bridge and Hargreaves), and trialists come back from 1-0 down to win 3-1 against Bury. Razak, Veseli, and Roman scored the goals.

Hahaha that almost makes it sound like a good recovery. The first half was about the most one sided awful game I have seen in years and we went in one nil down! I don't actually think Bury touched the ball in our penalty area in the first half ( maybe the goal was but I think it was just on the edge).

We camped in their half but looked toothless and lacking in ideas.Suarez and Roman naturally the best but just runing into no mans land most of the time and when they should shoot they didn't(that's mainly Suarez)

Bury were a non event and miles behind City for fitness, strength, ability but they organised well and deserved not to let a goal in.Hargreaves was functional and got 45 minutes in but offered nothing as an attacking creative threat.

Razak for Hargreaves and he scored the first but really it was just a keeper error as the ball basically went straight through him.Bridge made the next with a strong run that got him into the 6 yard box at the by line and Veseli scored after Hiwula somehow didn't.Roman got his goal cutting in from the left with the aid of a deflection and that was reward for his hard work.

Cheers for the report, how did the trialists do?
