As for Rekik and Suarez.Suarez is with the Spain under 19's and back soon whilst I assume Rekik is with the first team.Strange he didnt play as I doubt he will with the first team and might not even make the bench.

I know playing time is highly valued, and rightly so, but I think the experience Rekik gets from going with the first team squad and sitting with the team in the stands (even if he isn't in the 18) in places like Porto, Anfield for a semi-final, etc. are as equally as important. Not many 17 year olds get to be in that position, and we have him on the fast track.

I accept that is true and the fact that he has been training almost solely with the first team speaks volumes for the lad.I think he played in the previous round at Swindon so I am surprised he didnt play this game.

Razak and Assulin on the very verge of a double loan move to Gus Poyet's promotion-chasing Brighton.

Great news,Brighton will have been well thought out as Poyet plays the game the right way and will teach both lads plenty.

You can see the highlights of last nights cup exit on the Fulham site, seeing as City are to embarrassed to put them up.

United have been severely owned by us at youth level this season. I think today's results were exactly the same at both levels as earlier in the season (definitely the U18 3-1 and I think the U16s won 2-1 earlier in the season). Add in our rather thrown together EDS team who don't have a league to play in beating United's reserves, and that is complete domination over their "amazing" youth system that is constantly heralded largely due to a one-off golden generation that began to appear around the time today's 21-year-olds were being born.

I don't think our 18's today played that well or even looked that good but they still easily beat Utd.

Luke Coulson & Paul Clowes both started for Stoke under 18's on Saturday!

Anybody know if they have been released or sold... are they just on trial there?

Either way, this seems to have gone under the radar!
