Another starlet snatched, 15-year-old Brazilian Gabriel Almeida signed from Sporting. He is said to have "enormous talent" and has been compared to Diego Maradona, Zinedine Zidane and Kaka.

This boy excites me as I've heard alot about him.

Born on 3/9/96 starting his career at Sporting and left for Tottenham in 2006, after a dispute as to whether he was actually allowed to live and play over here he moved to Flamengo in 2009, and was signed by City in the summer of 2011.

I do not know if he appealed the decision to live over here or won it, but he is a little gem.

What have you heard about him?

I like him and think he's been held back by unfortunately chosen loan destinations.

If he'd had all season playing regularly he'd have come on leaps and bounds imo.

At Rochdale he was played out wide so didn't score many. At Preston he scored 1 goal in 1 game up front then that strange incident happened with the pissed up manager happened and he came back to City. Hopefully Dickov plays him up front and he can bag a few goals.

he's a left footed midget, like a quick and greedier David Silva, but having been schooled in England from a young age he has a good work ethic and punches above his weight, and his Brazilian flair is there for everyone to see.

THE Chronicle understands that Crewe Alex have agreed to sell schoolboy Dan Smith to Manchester City for an initial £300,000.

The 16-year-old England youth international midfielder has long been targeted by the Premier League giants.

Once completed, the deal will include a large range of add-ons including cash for appearances.
