Interesting news on the progress that Lopes is making on the official website:

Such a shame he got injured. Hope he has a speedy recovery, would be great to see him in one of the last matches!

Very unlike you to be so dismissive without reading the article Nelly, most surprised:

Lopes was named Player of the Tournament for his performances in Portugal colours at the recent T.I Porto tournament after a couple of star turns against Serbia and Russia.

He turned in an impressive 72 minutes in the 1-0 win over Russia two days before netting twice in the 6-2 win over Serbia on 27 April to cap another remarkable week for the Brazil-born forward.

The Academy starlet now scored seven goals in nine games at this level.

Perhaps not the most recent event in Lopes' career but more indications that we have a real talent here.

haha fair comment but I guess I was looking for news on the progress on his injury rather than stuff I already knew about.

Have to agree with nelly there :)

No news on the injury that I've seen unfortunately. There seem to be some rumblings that Suarez and Lopes are going to be drafted in to the first team squad soon, if not this season. I would relish that but it's probable that Lopes' recent injury may have curtailed that possibility.

I've seen nothing anywhere that gives any information on how long Lopes is likely to be out.

I've seen more than one person write that Txiki wants several EDS lads promoted to the first team squad next year - but I've not seen this written in any newspaper reports. Are there any grounds to these claims except predictions based on Txiki's wish for a positive youth culture at City? If three are promoted next season I'd guess Guidetti, Suarez, and Lopes? Or maybe Rekik? Razak is already in the first team squad, or has been, but rarely plays.

Yeah, I want to know too

You can only promote them if they are deemed good enough. Which, under Mancini, is likely to be very few of them. Giving a couple some minutes before the seasons out would be a start
