Rekik just confirmed on twitter that he's going to Blackburn on loan.

Good move for the lad, hopefully he can get a lot of games. Seeing as he can play as a LB, I could see him being back-up for Clichy next season if Kolarov is sold and a back-up isn't bought.

Only 1 of that side would get in our strongest U18 side. Its a young side.

I am more interested now in the under 16's side who seem to be faring much better this season. They will probably be more of a true age group team than the 18's

Academies like to work in cycles, you will get a good group one year and the next you'll get an average year.

This years second year scholars are a good group but they are playing above their age which leaves a weaker U18 this year.

Like you said the U16's should fair better next year though.

The U16s play a young team as well because half a dozen of the U16s have not been offered scholarships and no longer play

Went to watch the u18 v Villa last week, yes result wasn't great. don't think it was a red card either. One thing I thought was a bit strange was that, unless I was just stood in wrong place, I didn't hear many City players telling each other what todo. the Villa keeper even though not captain, was telling his defence and midfield who to pick up/what todo/where to go. Half time City got a right rollicking.

Going again today v Arsenal, hopefully a win this week.

Under 18's beat Arsenal 4-1

Great news! Thanks for letting us know.

The match report is up at the OS:

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/Match-reports/2013/February/City-u18s-v-Arsenal-u18s-Barclays-U18-Premier-League-9-February-2013" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/Match-report ... ruary-2013</a>

Both sides fielded their U16 teams but it was played as an U18 fixture, City really needed that win because the first two games in Group 2 had been losses.

Wabara finally got off the bench for Blackpool today for most of the second half.

And it looks like Elabdellaoui had another very good game for Braunschweig with another assist. They are top of 2. Bundesliga yet have started him in every game and have the option to buy him so maybe he will be playing in the Bundesliga next season with other ex-City academy players Mak and Karius.

Eds won on penalties and through to the next round in the Lancashire Cup.
